I mean, I will still replace T-80U with T-72B3A, but I definitely was expecting something more… end-of-the-line, hahah.
I am looking forward to Object 640 the most! I just hope they keep its capabilities to the maximum degree even if it needs to be end BR, rather than nerfing it just so it can be a lower BR.
Object 640 was always meant to be one of the best Russian MBTs. If they limit it to 3BM42 so it can be 11.3, for example, it would be a shame.
It’d be better than absolutely nothing, and wouldn’t otherwise impinge on new additions or take much work since all it is is just re-jigging a few numbers. And would effect the majority of nations that won’t get anything otherwise(you would think that it would be a single Dev blog if many were receiving them at once ), especially considering the sheer lack of options that some nations have.
Considering that it’s otherwise APKWS II, SL-AGM-114L-C8 or SL-AMRAAM, or AIM-9X there really isn’t much space for advancement past the Stinger for Service / prototyped options, due to the FIM-92 actually being sufficient for the scale of the threat IRL, and the game not reflecting Doctrine at all that would otherwise be in place.
I’d have to wonder if there is a prototype Avenger Turret (as found on the AN/TWQ-1 & Stryker MSL) with -9X’s or other Gen 5 IR missile.
So the perceived lack is otherwise completely artificial due to constructed constraints on the meta.
I honestly hope to have a new anti-aircraft defense for France. Okay, we have the Rafale that can do the job, but when you see the Ito90m with only 12km of engagement compared to 20 for the Pantsir… It’s unfortunately not very fun.
TBH, UK did deserve the SA Gripen because they do also operate the gripen (Just not as a combat airframe in service and NOT under the RAF (still, ETPS works very closely to the RAF))
