I’ve got a plastic model of that beauty
I know nothing about old battleships, but I keep seeing people say it’s to early for ships like the IJN Yamato.
What makes it so special or better than the ships in game atm?
(I don’t play naval nor will I ever before they add modern naval stuff)
Do you know when the devstream is coming (approximately)?
No
If there is no teaser today (and there probably won’t be one), then next week, most likely on Friday as usual.
1 week, 5 hours, and 19 minutes from now.
If theyre crazy they could drop the teaser in the morning and do the devstream in the afternoon/ evening. But this is very very unlikely. Theyre prolly going to do the devstream next week.
It was mainly a domestic competition between Mitsubishi and Kawasaki designs.
The Mitsubishi design won and entered further development. Many technologies such as the radar or composite wing structure of the F-2 started development for the domestic FS-X.
But political pressure from the US, mainly done by artificially amplifying what used to be minor budget concerns, eventually caused the project to be cancelled, and for Japan to look towards other nations. At this point aircraft like the Gripen, Tornado, F/A-18 and F-16 were proposed, but eventually the SX-3 was selected as the base for FS-X
However a lot of even the SX-3 design ended up changed regardless, resulting in essentially a whole new aircraft and a total cost roughly equal to estimated numbers for the domestic FS-X, despite the reduction in aircraft ordered in the end.
So basically Japan were pressured out of making the new plane, so they took a heavily modified proposed variant of a foreign aircraft and made a new plane out of it.
In tank terms, it would be like adding Leo2A7 back when top tier was Leo1’s vs T54’s. Or in air terms, it would be like adding F-22 back when top tier was Phantoms vs Mig23’s. It’s just skipping so much stuff and going straight to the very end.
Naval warfare often just very simply boils down to biggest guns & best armour wins, and Yammy has the biggest guns and thickest armour.
Like look at Iowa, another ‘end game’ battleship supposedly coming. We have completely skipped over the North Carolina and South Dakota class. What’s the future for those ships now? With the likes of Iowa / Yammy etc ingame, they’re destined to be added in a DOA/Obsolete state. They will never experience being top tier. They will be added as a prey item for the better things which came before them.
Top tier naval is so insanely compressed that WW1/Interwar ships are probably going to end up fighting Yammy if it comes, and they wont stand a chance.
I’m already preparing a suggestion for TALD decoy munition for the US planes, this could be fun to have against those new AA
fly low to the pantsir location, drop bombs and hold A + S to do a maneuver and escape his fire
And then die to another SAM or an aircraft.
The idea isnt to trade your Tornado for the Pantsir
Why would someone even use the tornado?
Unless someone really likes the plane, i don’t see any point in using it, especially when the eurofighter is just better in every way.
Same reason players have a Su-34 and Su-30.
Different spawn costs for CAS aircraft.
The gun on the Comanche isnt fixed. Its a rotating turret however it can be retracted into the Heli to improve stealth profile when its not necessary to have out
Thanks for the explanation, I see how that’s gonna be an issue
ooh thats cool. couldnt see any articulation thats why asked
lmao okay I wouldnt call not being able to see your own missile a buff
If you have the crew slots it’s always worth it to bring both an attacker and fighter at top tier because their different SP pools, if you spawn the fighter the SP cost of the attacker won’t increase from that iirc.
US, USSR and to some extend Israel are really good because they have the F-18/F-16 and Su-30SM respectively for the multirole fighter and the F-15E/F-15I and Su-34 for the attacker.
Helis are a bit iffy because almost everything without FnF missiles (except maybe the Ka-52) is pretty mediocre and will likely get even worse after this update.
The articulation is there, however its pretty difficult to see since its almost seamless so on alot of pictures it either isnt visible thanks to shadows or image quality
