I think Bismarck will be Top 1-2, actually.

People keep forgetting that War Thunder is NOT real life.

Ships spawn 10km away from each other. FCSs are not modelled. Short range armor schemes and high rate of fires define the meta, and Bismarck had both things.

In real life, Iowa was superior because it could stay at longer ranges with her superior speed and FCS and blah blah… but in War Thunder it will spawn straight into her vulnerable zone and in maps and game modes that won’t allow her to do any of what she’s suppossed to do.

Bro what?

I would rather put it third, the Yamato and the Iowa will surely be the two most powerful ships in the game

Iowa, why? It’s a 300mm thick belt with nuclear bomb shell rooms.

Her armor was meant and designed to withstand shots from 16km away and further. Ingame engagement ranges are all <12 km. Her armor is paper at this range.

It depends on the context.

It’s highly overrated if we compare it to late war ships.

But if the comparison is with early-war ships, it was superior to the rest.

The Yamato will be a powder keg

Fourth, Soyuz is definitely coming this update.

Iowa and one other Iowa class (can’t remember which one) only has 287mm of belt armor

5th if we ever get Lion or hell even the KGVs

Tornado is not an answer to Pantsir if anything Tornado is a liability it can not fly fast and pull G making it one of the easiest aircraft for SAMs to shoot down

Bismarck will be in a rough place for sure.

Oh, that’s very interesting! So it has nuclear shell rooms like the American ships…

Nein! It’s 307, angled so it’s 347 LOS. But still, insufficient against BB caliber shells <16 km.

The firepower is still superior to that of the Bismark and it has anti-aircraft defenses, which the Bismark hardly has. The two boats will be quite close in terms of capacity I think

That depends. Ingame, rate of fire is the most important aspect, and Bismarck will have a 24-26 second reload to Iowa’s HOPEFULLY 30 second reload.

Iowa and one other Iowa class only have 287mm, the rest have 307mm

The thinner plates would be bulkheads, not belt, if I recall correctly!

What was the russky boat with the German guns? Can’t remember the name, wanted to check if it was real or not))

Just remember it be funny if they gave of Mighty Mo as a prem later down the line with its Gulf War kit

Well considering that Bismarck was laid down only a year before Yamato I wouldnt say it was superior. And to add to that basically everybody could make a better ship than Bismarck for the same displacement
