" Construction began at Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne soon after the ship was ordered in November 1911, and was approaching completion when it was bought by the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy for use in the First World War. Commissioned in September 1915, it served in the Grand Fleet as HMS Canada for the duration of the war and saw action during the Battle of Jutland."
Yeah, by the Royal Navy not Canada navy
It’s like saying USS Iowa is owned and operated by Iowa
And by the Chilean navy too, I guess that could be used for an event
That’s why the question marks lol
I’m not clear on the issue regarding this ship. Chile bought it from the UK. Then the war took its toll, and it was renamed HMS Canada. The point is that at the end of the war, Chile “repurchased” it from Canada.
For battlecruiser there are HMAS Austrailia.
Well, it would be more historical in Jutland config but yeah for sure would be cool
They bought it after war from UK, not Canada
factually incorrect HMS Lion was laid down and was pretty much a KGV with 9 16 inch guns so would be on par with Iowa
Yeah I have laid down too, so? /s
Anyways there is Vanguard as a counterpart that we know for sure could float
copy. It may still arrive as HMS Canada. An Iron Duke with guns similar to the New York class.
laid down is the only requirement hence the blueprint soviet battle cruiser, blue print german dds italian light cruiser
Well yeah, that’s what it was called in British service lol
Yeah it’s a shame Montanas never got laid down
yeah but again the UK has options to fight Iowa
Vanguard and Lion class
Yes, if Gaijin decides not to add a LATAM tree, it would be great to see them included at least this way. Theres also the Mina Geraes-class, they were built in the UK.
I wonder when we get some more cold war frigates if you will get helicopters, Type 21 with a lynx with sea skuas
I hope so too, although in the current state of naval, that feels like a utopia.
I mean… balance in naval hardly exists as is currently and hasn’t existed for awhile so really gaijin would just be keeping the status quo
You guys are aware that date isn’t everything?
Just because something launched post-war doesn’t mean it’s good. As far as I’ve gathered, Vanguard was made up of leftover interwar(and early WWII) weapons just so the UK could have one more ship. AKA, it isn’t any fancy post-war/big-name ship. It’s what we have, but with better AA(and armour, I think).
