tell me when it was made and ill make one up that lines up (AN/APG is generally in chronological order - AN/APG-63 is older than AN/APG-68, AN/APG-79 is older than AN/APG-85, etc)

We’ll just have to hope for the 2nd round of leaks from the other leaker and/or teaser/devstream.
If we’re seeing J-10B at the very least I’d expect F-2A. Otherwise maybe it’s the J-11B.
Then again we all assumed F-2 would be here before EFT since it’s a later gen 4.5, yet here we are.

While I would like to see an J-11B, it’s not something comparable to the EFT and the Rafale
J-10B is better than the J-11B.
skipping first 2 countries with AESA (JP F-2A, US F-15C, both in 2000 but F-2 was about a month earlier iirc) to give country that didnt have AESA radar in service until 2013 an AESA on their already great top tier jet is crazy work
especially considering rafale could have gotten a PESA which is still really good

Although J/APG-1 is an older AESA radar, it has more TRM modules than the Rafale’s RBE2 AESA radar, so in terms of actual performance the J/APG-1 would be comparable.
so the French just really, really suck at making radars?
there is also issue of software though, that can have quite an impact on a radar’s performance
I don’t disagree, just trying to rationalize no F-2 with something else in there that’s not J-10.
