Who knows people have been asking for a commonwealth hornet and they might get it with the same reasoning as the F-111C
So who knows i would personally like to see it (if it is a later a version with AMRAAMS it will be worse then a US F/A-18C)

I see no reason why not tbh, it will be unique to the UK in the sense of having ASRAAMs and unique HMDs, plus they are modified As over Cs (like the CF-188 but that can come another time)
Hornets should realistically go to US, DE ( Through the Swiss), GB (through australia) and SWE (through Suomi)

It was because people wanted an Aardvark and Gajin couldn’t add the F-111K it was never built and UK having the F-111C takes nothing from the US
Same thing here people want a commonwealth Hornet and the US not getting a f/A-18A+ won’t take away from a F/A-18C

One why would these planes come with IIR missiles
Two the US doesn’t need an Australian F/A-18A just so they can get an different IIR missile down the line like your argument doesn’t work. That this plane not going to US means they miss out on a different IIR missile that isn’t even in game. We will ignore how the old hornets will probably never get IIRs anyway
Three the F-111K was heavily requested but it could come so the F-111C was added for that and didn’t take away from the US
