I love how this is what we were expecting from the Rank VIII hype, yet the only actually Rank VIII- worthy MBTs added since December 2023 have been the two Leopard 2A7s and the 122, maybe T-90M too xD.
VT-4A1 turned out to be a slower MBT-2000, Challenger 3 (TD) turned out to be basically a base Challenger 2 sidegrade, and M1A2 SEPv2 turned out to be a slower M1A2 with better thermals.
Realistically the only nations that should get an F18 are the US, Finland, and Switzerland. UK currently doesn’t have a subtree with them and doesn’t need a F18 with their current lineup of aircraft same with Italy. The less nations with an F18 the better. Of the nations that aren’t the US Germany and Sweden are the ones that will most benefit from it.

So where should the other 14 Australian vehicles the UK currently have go? Be removed from the game? Put them all in the US or Germany? Or maybe we should start using our heads here.

They could’ve just stuck with the actual F-16AJ design, making it at least paper… But for some reason decided to change it, because complete fake was somehow preferred here. And then they gave the worst possible “historical reasoning”, contradicting all sources on the actual vehicle of the competition it was submitted for.
Sure, they would’ve “had to” add a paper design, but they chose to make it even less than paper.

F-111C is the exception being a throw to UK since their F-111K never got finished and the Australian F-111C is literally the only F-111 outside of US service

The only nations that should get them anytime soon are the US and Sweden, but if Germany gets one, I don’t see why Britain shouldn’t also

Malaysian Hornet for Japan would be nice, but it should really be F-2 time first. The F-18 can still be added later

The literally could have gotten the F-2 Early, which only carries Aim-9L, AAM-3 and Aim-7M’s…

Compare the TT rank 8 vehicles and Germany is lacking and they also lack in diversity. Having it would be a great way to have yet another unique playstyle.

Considering the original leak list i think its very likely. Again things are subject to change. I mean again its entirely likely gaijin doesn’t add Finnish F-18C since it will likely only be 13.7 and thus in gaijins eyes not really warrant an addition currently. I mean we’ve had multiple TT gaps that could’ve been filled with many options yet the air tree has been ignored so no reason to assume this update will fix that.
