German air since late 2018 has suffered, with all but three top tier jets coming at least one update after other nations’ counterparts, and then there’s the MiG-21bis-SAU, coming with the MiG-23MLD. “Balance” at its finest.

Uhh, all but 2 or 3 came at least half a year after other trees had already received their equivalents. In some cases the German variants were as late as a whole year (F-4F Late & MiG-21Bis).
The three you’re talking about, i’m presuming them to be 9.12A, 9.12G and MLA, correct? If so, only two of them arrived a patch late, MLA was half a year late (2 patches), and it arrived just in time to be stomped by the F-14A.
