Many nation need new anti air at top tier though. Mainly japan, israel, italy and germany. Britain and US more or less aswell (technically they have no anti air)

For the first point, we don’t know when, and for the second, the FlaRakRad has two ready to fire missiles. The ItO 90M has eight.

Also, they did at least 10 test flights with a single Gripen C or D, so apparently that’s fair game

Right so the reload rate is the issue, havent used a Roland
The main problem is that it forces you to reload
That coupled with how bad Roland/VT-1s fly compared to how they once were. It’s not as bad with the ItO 90M, as you can just keep firing if one misses, but that’s not the case most of the time with the FlaRakRad.

If event only T-80UM2 counts I dont know how you dont count japanese 11.0 vehicles or two american event only vehicles like AGS or Merkava 3D, Merkava 3B/C in Israeli TT.
But I guess that’s how poor vision of “soviet bias” is.

I guess so? I mean Japan has the 16AJ which was only ever offered to them so if the Swiss actually flew a Gripen for testing then thats a “better” precedent.
I’d be okay with a Gripen for sure. Because then I’d have a “Eurofighter at home” and later will have the actual eurofighter

They tested the Gripen to replace the F-5E they’re still using. It was a competition between Gripen, Eurofighter and Rafale.
The Swiss government wanted to buy 22 Gripen E/F but a national referendum voted against buying them.
Switzerland has a lot of direct democracy.
So instead a few years later they’ve decided to buy F-35s

We shouldn’t get trial vehicles from subnations. Then sweden could also get the K2 and everything else. This would open up another new can of worms and trail vehicles are already worse enough
