IIRC it was relatively middle of the road and unremarkable. It was based on a design from the mid 1920’s but hadn’t been modernised or upscaled enough to yield very accurate solutions at significant ranges, which was needed when you consider the inaccuracy of the guns.
The guns themselves were a whole new issue, the shells had incredible penetration and range that is indisputable though thye have a very modest HE filler. But as you said shells had horrible quality control.
But on top of that, the Littorio’s had 15"/50’s, it isn’t a coincidence that the most accurate high calibre naval gun is the 15"/42, shortly followed by the 14"/45. The longer barrels i believe caused the muzzle gas’ to interfere more with the trajectory of the rounds.
Other navies compensated by adding delaying systems which meant the rounds would not leave the barrels simultaneously and therefore would not interfere as much, Italy did not do this.
I wouldn’t call the FCS bad, there are definitely worse even into WW2, but I also wouldn’t call it good.

Not gonna lie but french mains forgetting that they did get the amx super which was upgraded by german engineers aswell for export. Probably in gaijins mind tit for tat

I’mma be honest, I have zero hype for the A-10C
Whatever shiny new tech they slap onto it won’t change the fact that the airframe is lacking and that the primary weapon system (the 30mm) is worthless in peer vs peer conflicts.

It was a solely German upgrade. To be fair, I doubt Gsijan put an ounce of research into the vehicle, enough to even realise the origins of the vehicle.
There’s like 2 photos of the Super that exist. But the AMX 30 C2 is still at Saumur. Devs ain’t the most logical.

We have also 5 variant of the Amx30 with a stab that could replace the Super in case.
But Gaijin don’t like to give us stab , for protecting other nation i guess xD
