Does it? I hear Soviets complaining all the time about the radar in the SMT?
Foxhunter rivals f15c’s radar. It’s insanely good, especially for its era.
I have both the French and British tech trees fully unlocked, and both radars are ridiculously good. Never had any problems with both.
and Blue Vixen on the FA2 (and currently found on the Gripens) was suppose to be even better IRL than the Fox Hunter. its why the Blue Vixen went on to be upgraded for the Typhoon
The only reason the Foxhunter is so good is because Gaijin has made it have the lowest notch sector even compared to modern MPRF radars such as APG-68 or RDY, which is unrealistic. But no one has complained about it because it’s not talked about often.
Many of the radars are just nerfed but gaijin’s modeling of radars is a bit too simplistic anyway. Needs an overhaul.
I believe the simplicity is very intentional… I don’t think any more complexity will come soon.
The only good thing on SMT radar is the wide angle. You can basically notch while still keeping lock, but thats about it. It barely sees things right infront of itself.
Gunjob/Flame and a few others are usually pretty on the ball for getting things like that modeled right. besides more than a few on the forums who go out of their way to nerf British stuff. So i doubt its wrong or there is just insuffecient data available.
Though the F3 and ADV were both going to have far worse radars than they do currently. Its only because Flame found evidence that the Italians had Stage 2G that they both got it. (they were going to handicap Britain because of italy maybe having a earlier radar)
Ah, yeah thats a handy trick to have. Though Blue Vixen is 140. So thats pretty good. Especially with ARH
I’m still hoping we get proper rcs modeling and EW modeled.
Id take Sky Shadow ECM on the Tornado IDS quite happily :D
Would be very cool.
I’m not saying the current Foxhunter implementation is wrong, just the other modern radars in relation to the Foxhunter is wrong.
Ah right yeah. That I can see. Though also a few with placeholder radars still.
Argentinian M109 but with more explosive for HE
you know DM121 155 mm HE used on the PZH2000 has 11.4 kg of tnt with an equivalent of around 15.2 kg? and it uses insensitive explosive btw
Yeah unless it’s a straight top gun ahh dogfight the typhoon will usually win
Damn bro I’ve never thought of that. Fr one of the best C&P solutions for that tt. Before it was just remove the ROC jets and move any unique ones to US tt or event/prem for me but this is a much better solution imo
