Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Fixing the armors on the ariete should be able to levearge the machine to something better than CR2E/BN, top tier China and leclercs. After patch up the problem for MBTs, the extensive lineup for auxiliary vehicles which allows for easy CAS spawns, which are very good CAS as well, would then began to shine. Still lacks a good AA, but thats gonna need a new vehicle(centauro lancia SMH, theres the zes45, so give us the lancia). Italy doesnt need a top brass MBT like L2A7 smh, something getting it to being “mid” is fine. At least its already arguably better than ZTZ99A, CR2s and merkava mk4s in some scenarios.

As I said earlier, I’m all for it, but I don’t think it would be “too much,” ARH is not the extremely radical change some people say it is, and if the leak list is correct it seems like Gaijin are mostly going to add ARH missiles to existing platforms. If it is subs, that would be the most radical gameplay addition coming with the update.

(As for the larger discussion on how submarines would work in War Thunder, check out the Submarines thread in the Machinery of War forum!)

Can you provide a link to the submarine discussion?nvm, found it.

That event has the problem where the allies puts its best destroyers in the war into escorting. Fletchers would of course destroy the best U-boats, theyre arguably one of the best DDs of the war. If the allies only get to play with crap DDEs, it couldve been a different story.
And as of the element of surprise, its probably gonna involve spawning outside of map boundaries, and giving it extra freedom to move around.

If subs are getting introduced, then its at least four or five new subs, even its only for US, GER and USSR. If there has to be premium subs that number will go up. So I am more thinking of the amount of effort needed and the cost that gaijin puts into commisioning models - some ships was reportedly 3,000+ USD.

Id be pissed if Britain got none. I know sub warfare wasnt our primary thing, but still…

The models are already there for soviet, German and US subs…

R-36 were armed, though R-37 and R-38 only had planned armaments as far as I understand, R-40 wasn’t finished. Though it doesn’t mean they can’t be added anyway, only depends on Gaijin.

K Class :D

Its already a joke, the strongest navy in the world until '43 is arguably only better than France and Italy, and French naval TT isnt even in the game for a year.
Well, we could say its on the top 1/2 still considering theres Sweden Israel and China too.

Id not be surprised if Britain got WW1 Subs vs WW2 subs for every other nation. Basically what they’ve been doing with BBs

Yeah…

We still had pretty decent subs and a fair few of them.

I believe we Found a Picture of a R-38 with 4 13.2mm installed, though the R-37 info is rare to come by.

Yeah… but Id still put my money on US and Germany being the first because they were known for Sub warfare

Can also bet Britain will have sub-par ASW for " reasons"

Mmmmmmmm id put the Japanese as better by 1940, but this isnt really the place for that xp.

(Though any theoretical battle does have to account for the complete inability of Japanese high command to plan their way out of a paper bag without getting everyone killed.)

Mostly because Britain was actually sticking with the Washington naval treaty :D

Town class and their extra hidden 4 inch armor belt plates that magically happened to fit in perfectly to slots in the hull?

Edit: lol and hms unicorn being an “aviation maintenance and support auxiliary” and not an aircraft carrier.

Still i meant more in terms of carrier doctrine, training, and especially aircraft quality.

Still, british ships didnt sink themselves, which is a point against the Japanese (and Germans for that matter).

All shall fear the Swordfish

There is a notable exception, of course.
