They already introduced cross-research with Tanks and Helis, not sure why a tab system like this wouldn’t work

I doubt they’d add GDR AA vehicles to Germany
they seem to ignore the GDR in ground additions as much as they can
Subtree becomes an actual selectable tree?
With cross research, all air researches air etc so basically nothing changes except for the UI.

If we overcompensate there are still about ~100 unique things here. As there are more than a few things the UK, US and Germany are missing. Plus a few things are wrong, missing or need to be removed from here.

Yep, I still stand by my proposal I made tbh, especially since I main Germany but do play Britain, and am Canadian born and raised.
Honestly just the easiest way to keep everyone happy to an extent.
Mostly because they are not much needed. In the current meta of the game, the only DDR vehicle thats probably worth adding is the SPz BMP-2 without konkurs, which is probably a good addition to the 8.0 lineup. FLA-KOM Strela-10M2 would be a good SPAA, but there is already a roland system in place, despite being different types of SAM. KPz T-55A would be rather unneccessary, T-55AM-2 or AM-2B would be interesting depending on their kit, but still wont make a huge difference to gameplay.
I thought about the first example but that would clutter the UI too much, because you would have to write out the OG country’s name and the subtree, so it would be
French Army, French Heli, French aviation […] BeNeLux Army, BeNeLux Heli etc
The second example is cool, it probably makes more sense to select the branch first rather than the country like in my image
