Thats another thing i am curious about, i am assuming its going to be ranke 8 like the F-20 so at least around 12.0 so with it being a rather suboptimal airframe for that br range maybe it will get R-77s?
putting it at something like 11.7 with R-73s and possible R-27s is something i can see to but that is pushing it and doesn’t really make any sense.
I definitely don’t see them giving it R-60Ms only as that would kinda make it pointless considering the whole point of the upgrade was to give it access to later armaments.
take in count that’s with ERA, raw protection its around 800 to 900 mm afaik, and germany has a 760 mm long penetrator patent, wich might be a smart apfsds as weird as it sounds

Im seriously doubting R-77s at 12.0 on something like a Mig-21. Though would hopefully mean FA2 can be 11.3. But any other loadout just seems a tad pointless to me. Again, especially with better aircraft for Sub 12.0 available
Interestingly, the Belgian F-16 features a Carapace RWR that can detect Pantsir.

I would genuinely LOVE for EMBT to go for both Germany and France (in a similar fashion to MBT-70 and KPZ-70).
It’s an actually unique tank (2A7V hull + S.2 turret (modified on the later demonstrator at that) and gun? Damn!

I really want a good harrier in my lineup, although I’m looking at the Italian tech tree for when I eventually grind for one, mostly because I really want the SAAB 38 (AMX). That AV8B seems pretty great

Yeah, AV-8B being a Harrier II has some distinct advantages in air combat. Namely overall better turn performance. But FA2 will have the better radar
I do wonder if the Italian AV-8B+ will get AMRAAM and if/when the US will get an AV-8B+ with or without AMRAAM.
But the Sea Harrier FA2 is going to be interesting. Take a Sea Harrier FRS1, give it a better engine (same one as the Gr7/AV-8B+), the radar from the Gripen and then give it Aim-9Ms and Aim-120Bs.
So BR placement is gunna be key and a bit of a pain in the butt to get right (too low and it will destroy everything in BVR, too high and its DOA in WVR)
For Sim both the AV-8B+ and Sea Harrier FA2 should be pretty good with their radars and the room to actually engage in BVR.
(though fingers crossed the Harrier Gr7 and the future Harrier Gr9A can get some pretty decent buffs from recent finds that confirm it can have 6x AAMs instead of the current 4)

Harrier with AMRAAM in sim would be sick. I really hope JA37D also gets it. I’m all for early jets getting their Fox 3’s.
How are Harriers in regards to modern Fox 2’s? Having something like a 9X or Iris-T with the hover mode would be cracked in WVR
Later GR7s and GR9s get asraams, no idea about the harrier IIs

Harrier Gr7/Gr9 and FA2 all trialed ASRAAM.
US AV-8B+ could probably get Aim-9X
and I have no idea what Italy’s AV-8B uses.
But Im doubting Gen 5 IRs for any of them currently. There is a limit to how high we should push what is ultiamtely a sub-sonic aircraft (sub-sonic ground attack aircraft in the case of the AV-8B/Gr7/Gr9) up in BR with Gen 5 IRs. Even though it would be hilarious. Especially as the Gr9A has HMD.

- Terrible addition. Should come to UK as part of a proper Canadian subtree. Complete BS to just give UK the best vehicles of every nation without proper subtrees. A disservice to the country, since they don’t get proper and full representation, and only dilutes the game with copy-paste of the same 3 “good” vehicles (JAS-39, Leo 2, F-16…)

- Benelux: hoo boy. Words cannot express how terrible of an idea it is to add not one, but three nations as a single subtree. There is no way that every nation’s vehicles will fit into a subtree. This is only going to give France the best vehicles of multiple other nations, not genuinely introduce any new nations. Utter BS by Gaijin if true. Why even have tech trees if they’ve got all the same vehicles while missing so many historical vehicles?

I personally think Eurofighter/Rafale is much further away than people realise, like either summer or winter 2025.
My timeline is December this year. Otherwise Germany would have the F4F-ICE and Britain and Italy would have Gripen C and that be it for top tier for all 3 nations for well over a year.
I think we’ll see Typhoon Equivalents like the F-15 and F-18 added maybe as early as September
