If kept to just AIM-9M/Li’s and Magic IIs, they won’t be especially powerful. The F-16C bl 50, F/A-18C, and some later Flankers will be able to compete with them just fine.

Afaik Rafale never used Magic 2, or early (EARLY) pre-prod ones.
Since MICAs are apparently coming next update (if everything is working), i don’t see why Rafales would not start with them once they are here.

Rafale can use Magic II up to this day, in fact it had to be equipped Magic IIs until MICA IR entered service with F.2.1. Marine Rafale LF.1 used them the most, but there are also (rare) pictures of later variants with Magic IIs.

Ok but i mean it’s only for first variants, even if later can use them, it would be stupid to put only magics 2 to Rafales if before them some 2000s have MICAs
The MiG-23MLD can compete fine with the F-14A, but that doesn’t mean that it’s as good as it.
