Honestly, it’s because I’ve been there and done that when it comes to my enjoyment of history and tank evolution from the beginning to modern times. I played the other game for a few years and have thoroughly enjoyed it, but I’m also done with it. Now I’m interested in the modern stuff we barely know about and WT is one of the few games that offers you the ability to play them. Low tiers for me is utterly meaningless and boring as I almost exclusively play top tier JP as I find the game more challenging and interesting there. Of course that’s just my opinion.
For people like me (I have the entirety of Japan air and ground researched), we just wait until they add something that we GE and get into ASAP to enjoy. We don’t really grind, but we pay for that luxury (not always, I grinded the TKX(P) as it was pleasurable, even through stock HEAT-FS). I just look forward to more equipment in the modern era as that’s just something that feels untouched by majority of mil-sim esque games (meaning an Abrams in battlefield is not the same as an Abrams in WT).
Personally, I look forward to the Mitsubishi F-2A Viper Zero as it’s my all time favorite aircraft ever since I realized it wasn’t some made up gimmick aircraft just for Ace Combat. I’ve learned so much about it thanks to forum members making threads and suggestions and it’s all fascinating. After all, isn’t that why we’re here? To see the engineering ingenuity that goes into these machines and get to use them?
I hope that gives some context and an idea for people like us who don’t mind the low-mid tier stuff, but are mostly excited for the top tier additions every update.
In part its wanting to fly aircraft that you see/read about in things. Like at the moment Im rather in the mood for the Sea Harrier because I was just reading harrier 809 which is all about the Sea harrier in the Falklands.
But I also want modern aircraft that I actually see, especially those at air shows like the BAE Hawk or Typhoon.
Not on Audible unfortunately (I mostly “read” books in the car, I spend a lot of time in my car for my job)
next on my list is “Sea Harrier, Over the Falklands” by Sharkey Ward. But with hopefully the Sea harrier FA2 around the corner, probably about time to re-“read” the holy bible of SHAR books. “Harrier, How to be a fighter pilot” by Paul Tremelling
Still no. Ukraine currently operates Abrams, Challenger, Leopard, Gepards, Bradleys, etc etc. Not too mention F-16s and I think Gripens soon-ish.
Just adding the top tier line-up of multiple other nations to the USSR because “Ukraine was a former part of the USSR” is a really really bad idea. not too mention the whole… Current “situation” in Ukraine
Neither should get either, however Russia especially shouldn’t get anything not developed by either the Russian Federation or the USSR, or vehicles that come from other nations and are developed from Russian/Soviet vehicles.
