yeah not sure why the Abrams got a 5 second reload but the challenger 3 lost its 5 second reload because “it doesnt have the lap loading”

However, what sort of planes did we have around then.
The MiG-23 could hang with F-14s in rate, and R-24 could give them a good run for their money. So that’s Russia and Germany squared.
The Phantom countries (so UK, US and Japan) can’t really outturn a F-14, so if they had AIM-7Fs maybe they could outstick them… which means Britain couldn’t compete because it never had 7F.
France, yeah M2K was needed, but they Super 530 and superior close combat performance
Italy was just dying because F-104s…
China had the J-8, which can pull a nice bit of alpha and turn…
Sweden had muh Viggen so turn performance
And Israel well Kfir. Turn. Sprint in because J79 things
So er… yeah, only 2 groups can really claim to be buggered properly. Italy… and Britain.
If the Arietes are fixed (won’t happen, I know), and the C2 is added, Italy could be fine for MBTs. Not good, since it’d still only really be a Leopard 2A5 counterpart, however it’d be able to hold up at least.
