I was told in a dream that another low tier French AA will be added that no one asked for and that doesn’t help in any meaningful way, after which Gaijin is going to act like the French tree is complete and not add anything else to it.

The thing with the F-2 is, it won’t even be meta. I would assume they add the early variant first which means it comes with the same loadout as the F-15J, except it does not have the flight performance to be lugging those missiles around all the time.
AIM-7Ms don’t have datalink and no matter have good your lock is, if the target notches and chaffs they’ll be fooled, AESA radar or not, since the sparrow seeker isn’t AESA. Not only that, as mentioned, these sparrows are heavy for a light fighter. Unlike the F-16C, you can’t even opt for 6 x AAM-3 so you’ll be stuck with 4 x AAM-3 if you go IR only.
So in a game where everyone else is slinging ARHs and hugging the deck, realistically you’re just a Gripen with less missiles and countermeasures. Even when we get to the F-2 late with AAM-4A, they’ll most likely be fighting EFTs and Rafales. However at that point at least F-2 would get a targeting pod and L-JDAMs for CAS.
I do not know why Gaijin drags their feet on the early F-2 variant, especially when they also have an easy in with the XF-2A that they could substitute the APG-68 with as it’s plausible and could avoid the AESA worries.

France is for the most part fine for AAs. High tier light vehicles are the problem, especially since the only true one is a bloody premium.

In all honesty after grinding the French air tree I just want to buy that VBCI and be that not-so-useful guy trying to spawn a mirage. Without a better premium MBT i cant see why should I buy le AMX 30 supré.

The EMBT would be nice, however other than that, no.
The CV9035NL will of course be a premium, after which Gaijin will say “don’t worry, we’re working on something”, only to add the VBCI 25 as an event vehicle three years later.

Im kinda expecting the Ajax to be premium just because they know it will sell. Especially if they leave it at a lower BR like the 2S38
I’m expecting at least the Desert Warrior to be a premium, since it’s not used by the British army.

No I don’t think so, with them confirming FOX 3 missiles for all other nations in game I believe it will be primarily an air focused update.
