Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

The amount of arguments it caused I doubt it will be added now lol

We haven’t announced any such vehicles and we don’t comment on theoretical situations and speculation until we have something official to announce.

Well, you can’t blame me for asking given this thread has been a war zone for the last few days xD

So basically the Yak-141?
Or am i wrong? Because that thing also had no equipment right?

I made a discussion thread for it so we don’t have to talk here

long story short: I know

The Yak-141 was a fully functional prototype of a combat aircraft with detailed trials, planned weaponary and systems. The EAP does not meet that.

Are those criteria used on all aspects?
Like naval, air and helicopters as well?

As already explained, naval has different criteria due to the real world circumstances and challenges of shipbuilding and the nature of many started but unfished projects. We have detailed this in previous development Q&As.

Are active radar missiles still planned to come for this patch?

EDIT: For most nations atleast

Yes

wait so why cant we have “planned” weaponry on other tanks or planes in game? one example we had earlier for a tank not in game was the Javelin on the Ajax, by all other standards gaijin has set it wouldn’t get it as we have sources claiming it has been mounted yet lack any photos of it, but by the standards set for the Yak 141 it would so now I am confused

So planes like the EWR VJ 101 and VAK 191 are possible aswell?

We have planned weaponary on other aircraft in game. Such as the SRAAM on the Harrier GR.1.

As already mentioned, aircraft, tanks and ships have different requirements.

As a hypothetical question, if there had been no Typhoon built after EAP, would the EAP along with the planned weaponized Typhoon design be enough for an in game armed Typhoon as “unfinished prototype” similar to the YAK-141?

well lets hope it is an early blog, so the whole argument gets layed to rest. thankfully thepacks often are relatively early

EAP and Typhoon are not the same project.

So least say Britain ran out of planes between the Sea harrier and the Typhoon.

I heard that if the EF project failed we had other options from the US would these be considered ?
Or would the Commonwealth reason come into play ?

This isn’t a got you moment I’m just wondering.

The EAP was not a prototype of the Typhoon. It was a seperate aircraft entirely. So if there was no Typhoon prototype, then the Typhoon would not be the Typhoon and it would be whatever the EAP would have been had that been selected to develop into a combat aircraft prototype / program. No such aircraft exists.

That does sound logical, thanks!

Misread “project” for aircraft somehow. If it’s not the same project even then it obviously makes no sense to be treated as one.
