Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Unfortunately, this does not matter, I don’t see Iran getting their own independent tree, so they’ll probably end up as a sub tree with the country they have the most technological ties to.

i really like to see all of them in the tech tree tho

Can’t wait to see that DPRK/Iran tree then )))

That would be cursed.

Russia cannot get a sub tree due to already having five lines, and, once again, the Iranian F-14 has nothing to do with the USSR.

If you say so

And what tree is that?
USA, USSR and Germany all have 5 researchable vehicle lines and in turn full.

Indonesian maybe sub tree for BeNeLux (Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg) tech tree ? sure ?

I still think the Iranian model fits in US event/squadron/premium(when rank 8 premiums come).

That sounds ridiculous to some but you gotta look at the timeframe when they were sold to them, not how they are used now.

As a Dutchman living in Indonesia I can say some people here might get offended by that because their military finds it’s roots in fighting the Dutch.

Don’t get me wrong, I love seeong any Dutch or Indonesian content in War Thunder.

Switzerland would be nice as a BeNeLux sub nation due to it and Belgium working together on a few military vehicles.

I expect the tomcat to be a event vehicle, not a research vehicle, as for a Iranian tree, that’s up to Gaijin and how they’ll expand tech trees, I do see Gaijin going beyond 5 research lines for some, but not for awhile.

Non.

Why is it that you think it best for an Iranian jet that is used in the armed forces of a government who calls the US the Great Satan, and regularly chants “Death to America” in the halls of it’s parliament should be added to anywhere other than the country Iran shared the most information with after it expelled the US from it’s country completely, the USSR?

:)

The government that bought it was chanting the opposite.

It’s kinda like comparing Germany in thr 1930s to Germany in the 1950’s. Completely different governments.

An early F-14 sure, but a later, modernized F-14 belongs outside of USA/UK/FRA/ITA/SWE/ISR. China or USSR are a natural pick. Personally, either a North Korean/Iranian sub tree in China would help flesh it out, or an Iranian Premium/Squadron/Event vehicle in USSR would work.

If you look at what exists in game, China and Russia already have camos for tanks and planes from SEA and Africa, and thanks to TURMS and Su-22M3 they have Syria as well. Given the alliance that Syria and Iran currently have, as well as the military and technical assistance that Russia has given to both Syria and Iran, it makes perfect sense to me that the F-14A Modernized with Sedjil and R73 would have a natural home in the USSR tree.

No one has articulated an argument yet that convinces me otherwise.

True. So what happens with the Venezuelan F-16’s, should they enter the game?

It’d be a great gap filler for BeNeLux. Always kinda figured France would be the host of the Mirage IIIS at some point if they ever add AIM-4’s.

Not sure, have never looked into that background.
From the top of my head I’d say there are enough F-16’s from high profile nations. F-14 was/is only operated by 2 territories so it’d be nice to see both in game one way or the other.

There are F-14’s that carry R73’s? Thats awesome and yeah those wouldn’t belong in a US tree.

This is why I think F-14 should come to USSR/China. Get it outside of the US.
