Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Imo there can be actually a standalone Iranian TT in a similar way to Israel, it can also accommodate other countries of the region vehicles.

Nah that should be saved for a sub tree for the Netherlands : D

Ahaha, good joke.

But wouldn’t it be a Benelux sub-tree?

Oh wait that would be Netherlands with Bulgum sub-tree.

The vehicle you took images of is known as “Hafiz”.
“Tamuz” is just the Hebrew/IDF name of the SPIKE NLOS. Now, so long as we don’t see the LOAL capability of the SPIKE NLOS ingame, I believe the Hafiz could be an excellent Israeli ATGM carrier ingame.

However, if you ask me, I’d want to see some other ATGM carriers in Israel more urgently as they would be more practical:

Pereh
Similar weaponry to the Hafiz, also using the SPIKE NLOS, except the Pereh has 12 of them. The Pereh used to be a classified IDF ATGM carrier disguised as an MBT, that cannon you see on it is fake, and the turret armor is a unified block without a hole for a breach. At least within the first days of the Pereh ingame, a lot of people would mistake it for an MBT and would quickly shoot its barrel, only to watch in horror as the hidden 12pc launcher opens up and launches a SPIKE NLOS at them.

RAM Mk.3 AT
Technically there are two versions: one with a turret (displayed here) and one with a retractable launcher, but I’m afraid the latter might not be able to launch the ATGMs on its own. This version could receive a TOPLITE electro-optic sensor on top of the turret, as we have an image of this on another vehicle.

About the vehicle itself, the RAM Mk.3 AT is based on the RAM Mk.3 (aka RAM 2000), which is a deep modernization of the old Israeli armored car RAM V-1 (and its original IDF-serving version: RBY Mk.1). This variant of the RAM Mk.3 has two quad LAHAT launchers. The LAHAT itself has a decently sized
tandem warhead with 800mm of RHAe penetration, but most importantly, it has the ability to loft and hit a target from above, similarly to Hellfires. LAHAT, unlike Hellfires, can choose wherever to attack a target in a direct path, a low-angle loft (~30°) or a high-angle loft (~70°), making it quite versatile in the anti-tank role.

FTD (IAI)
The Future Tank Demonstrator made by Israeli Air Industries, one of three technology demonstrators made by each major Israeli company competing for the making of the future Israeli fighting vehicle: the Carmel. The vehicle is a bit different compared to Elbit’s and Rafael’s technology demonstrators, replacing the unmanned turret and 30mm Mk.44 Bushmaster II with two up-angled quad LAHAT launchers and a simple remote weapon station with a 7.62mm machine gun. The FTD also seems to have Rafael’s TOPLITE electro-optical sensor which will be its gunner optic ingame.

Compared to the RAM Mk.3 AT, the FTD (IAI) will be kind of an Israeli Swingfire, being able to shoot and guide LAHATs while keeping itself safe behind cover. As explained before, the LAHATs can either “swing” and follow a direct path, or continue to climb and proceed to hit the target from a lofting trajectory.

RBY Mk.1 (TOW)
Honestly, I’d prefer seeing this ATGM carrier rather than the Giraf…
The RBY Mk.1 was an Israeli domestically-designed armored car, and it had many versions with many weapons. This variant used a telescopic TOW launcher and could carry up to 16 TOW ATGMs. Compared to the Giraf, it would be way faster and have a lower profile, it’s very small.

All of these are ATGM carriers I’d like to see in Israel urgently, they are not the most unique ATGM carriers Israel could get nor are they the most urgent TD-class vehicles Israel needs, but they are my choice.

Also, the Hafiz was already suggested by a good buddy of mine Yoyolast, and it was even passed to the devs in October.

Oh… That.

Okay listen, after Israel canceled the Lavi due to American pressure (American politicians and Lockheed Martin lobbied Israeli politicians to vote against the local funding of the Lavi after the US rightfully pulled out of it due to concerns of competition on the export market with their F-16C), the US offered compensation for Israel: opening to them the ability to buy American aircraft they were not allowed to before:

A-10A, AH-64A, AV-8B, F-15E, F-16C/D and the UH-60A. Israel chose only the AH-64A, F-15E (which would be modded further to become the F-15I), F-16Cs and F-16Ds, and UH-60As. The A-10A and AV-8B were offered but Israel did not choose them, I am not even sure if Israel tested them at all.

You might think: “Why would Israel turn down the A-10? Wouldn’t it be really useful in Gaza?”

First of all, Gaza only became an issue for Israel after the rise of Hamas in 2007, those aircraft were offered to Israel in the late 80s.
Second of all, the reason the IDF/AF would not buy A-10s today even if the option was available, is because the IDF/AF is a small and efficient air force using few types of aircraft which are jack of all trades, unlike the USAF which has a whole bunch of specialized aircraft which excel only in a specific task. While the A-10 would be much cheaper to run in Gaza compared to the F-35, it would require a ton of new training, replacement parts, and a whole lot of adjustment of the IDF/AF to this new jet. Don’t get me wrong I’d love to see Israeli A-10s (especially considering they were never exported so all the A-10 fanboys would go crazy over this lmao), but Israel has good reasons not to procure it.

As for the AV-8B, Israel just straight-up does not need it. We have no fear of running out of airfields or needing to use our aircraft in limited environments. It’s simply irrelevant.

TL;DR - the IDF/AF was offered the AV-8B and A-10A, but denied them and never even tested them. They are exactly in the same position as the F-16AJ, and Gaijin made it very clear that was a major exception simply because Japan would be stuck without anything else for a while.

The CL-13B Mk.6 is not at all in a similar position to the MiG-29 and A-10A when it comes to additions to Israel.

The CL-13B Mk.6 was tested by Israeli pilots, actually painted in Israeli camouflage, Israel had signed contracts with Canadair, hell, there were even 8 CL-13B Mk.6s with Israeli serial numbers just waiting to be shipped! It was, by all means, an Israeli aircraft waiting to be delivered, but unfortunately, the Canadians were bitches and listened to the Americans and decided to just not deliver them.

The MiG-29 was just a Polish leased MiG-29 which Israel tested for a few days (3 days I think), and the A-10A was offered but never actually tested. Not viable imo.

Huh? ohhhhh. there fixed it.

Negative ghost rider.

Yeah honestly they should have just stuck to adding singular vehicles to the trees which suit them best.

Oui.

Why is it that you think it best for an American jet that has absolutely nothing to do with the Soviet Union should be added to anywhere other than America?
