I think there’s more alternatives for potential future trees tho, mainly the Turkish upgraded leopards and this also works for Chilean mods if you ask me.
Ofc things such as the Dutch modifications are insignificant, but I think there’s probably more leeway than you’d think.

And looked in the chilean mod, the difference you name is the multi spectral layer, there is no additional armor kit or anything. It is questionable if gajin implements the effect and is essentialy only a skin
Yeah but now consider things like Leopard 2SG (basically a better Leopard 2A7V with 2A4’s optics weakspot), IFVs, SPHs, good SPAAs and most importantly strong and fitting additions for top tier Air Battles.
Thailand subtree gets added
Japan gets a TIFCS M60, a TTS M60, a regular M60, M48, M113A1 (TOW) and a token unique addition FV101 (Britain not included, it’s going to be the next battlepass vehicle)

To my knowledge they also had additional armor and new engines, at least for a certain variant.
i think you are over expecting the 2SG, its essentialy the same armor kit as on the 2Pl, from the revolution family

That’s for the turret yes but hull armor would be at least on pair with 2A7V (and it’s not like 2PL’s turret is badly armored)

Undeniably these vehicles are strong. But I disagree with any subtrees of Japan in eastasia except for Thailand.
The reason is more on politics and history:
These may indeed significantly strengthen midtier and toptier Japan, but would cause massive issues in the gaming community. Same for Vietnam, the Phillipines and Korea.
And even politics aside, there are worries that the identity of Japan would be challenged, although in the case of Japan not so, the type 10s are still really strong and fun to play with.
