I believe the F/A-18A+, but that basically brings them up to F/A-18C standards, complete with new radars and such.
An AMRAAM-less A-model Hornet would be fine in the TT somewhere, with the F/A-18C being added later with more and better stuff later down the line (kind of like the F-15A compared to the F-15C, or F-16As compared to the F-16Cs)
Gaijin never said they were coming next major, they said in one of the two coming patches for this year.
A Hornet without AMRAAMs can absolutely be added even after we get our first AMRAAM-equipped planes, as Gaijin doesn’t explicitly have to add them on every new thing added.
I can 100% see Gaijin going the route of adding ARH missiles to one or two specific planes to test out live server performance (Mig-29SMT, F-16C/Barak II), then go from there later on. Also, there’s a chance Gaijin could delay addition of ARH weapons again.
Honestly yeah, that’s exactly how I could see it. It’d be especially funny if Germany, Britain, and China were the first nations to get ARHs, particularly on the J-8F, Sea Harrier FA.2, and F-4F/ICE, with no one else getting them until a few updates later
I guess Grumman F-14D the best fighter aircraft 12.3 BR for USA tech tree in rank 8 before F/A-18C Hornet with 10x AIM-120B AMRAAM (1995) but maybe F/A-18A from 1988 with IR SRAAM AIM-9L & SARH MRAAM AIM-7F/AIM-7M sparrow. but not sure F/A-18A (1988) armed AIM-9M ?
Gaijin could add F/A-18 from other country same F/A-18C standard and F/A-18C from Finnish before USMC F/A-18C
So Gaijin seeming not wanting to skip the A versions of most US 4th gen aircraft and they said on the RU stream to expect fox 3s in the first or second update of the year.
This would leave a very short window to release the 18A in any relevancy unless we see some major BR decompression.
Seeing how little aircraft sweden has left and the Gripen C already being confirmed for early 2024 iirc, I very much doubt we will see the Finnish 18C in the next 3 updates at the very least.
Not surprised JAS39C Gripen from Swedish coming to first major update but it might be JAS39C Gripen early with PS-05/A Mk.3 radar & Litening III targeting pod and same SAAF JAS39C Gripen
I hope gajin change radar to PS-05/A Mk.3 and change targeting pod Litening III replace Litening II for SAAF JAS39C Gripen
Unsure for Finnish F/A-18C maybe F/A-18C basic or F/A-18C MLU 2.
Gajin consider decompress to 13.0 BR for fighter aircraft top tier in december ?
I always thought that the best way was to put the technological development of each nation in each technological tree. That is why it is called the National Technology Tree.
This leads us to the fact that not all nations are on an equal footing to compete.
Solution? make all crews interchangeable between different nations. Divided into two large sides: Axis vs. Allies up to rank IV and West vs. East from rank V.
For example, in slot 1 and 4 I put a German tank, in slot 2 and 3 Italians and in slot 5 a Japanese, etc. Or however you like, as long as they are in the same thematic block. You can put together “pure” lineups of one nation or combined, as you prefer. This way, there will be no nations weaker than others and the strength of your alignment will depend on how many technology trees you have researched.
There will be no need to investigate the same vehicle 3 times to reach the exclusive content and the skins will be sold much more, because for example, there will be only one F-16 in the game, but we will have to buy the skin according to our nation (Taiwan, Italy, Denmark, Turkey and all the others that operate this weapons system, depending on the variant they operate).
This way, there will never be paper vehicles, test vehicles or weaker alignments, nor will we have to investigate the same vehicle 3 times (For example, M109).
Each lineup will adjust to your own playing style, you will be more competitive depending on the time you dedicate to the game and there will be much more historical accuracy.
This concept will surely have many gaps, but it is a basis for thinking about how it could be viable in the future.
It 's not likely that this aircraft will receive MR-ARH at this stage, imo. The BR difference between it and it 's ( still SARH-armed ) successor is noticable, and w/ the successor to the 37D 's successor already announced to be coming the most likely course for the JA37D will be for it to continue being limited to it 's current armament potential, so that it can remain at it 's current BR.
It 's similar to the GB Phantom 's situation, it has the capability to carry better weapons but likely won’t have them ingame since there 's no replacements for the specific level of capability it occupies w/o them.
Not to say it will never get any new mechanics though, it 's still the only aircraft to have a dedicated ECM pod modelled atm:
I suppose. I expect we’ll get Super Hornet ASAP because 12 AIM-120. Gaijin would never pass up a perfectly good opportunity to bend over backwards to favour US in Air RB. (Yea bla bla I know Su-27 exists for less than a patch so there’s a small disruption in service)
I mean JA37D in game isn’t even JA37D at this point since JA37C could be mounting both AIM-9L and BOL pods. JA37D existed specifically to use RB99 (AIM-120B). As many people said already JA37D without RB99 would be like F-14 without AIM-54.
But it does not, for the same reason the D model likely will not receive AMRAAM - it 's current armament suite is more appropriate for the position in the techtree it 's intended to fill.
