Id play USSR for USSR vehicles, and i do. There is some very good indian modifications of british stuff like their folland gnats were incredible and they have some unique things too like the Tejas (a better rafale with how WT works) or the disaster of a tank that is Arjun (coming this year)
because the vickers mk7 as built for british intent as a challenger 1 replacement, this challenger 1300 or rheinmetall defence 130mm gun testbed or whatever was simply to test a new gun not to replace an entire tank.
i would count giving them a tank as funding it, stops germany from having to build something entirely new from the ground up

it stops “germany” or whoever in germany from needing to build atleast an entire new turret to fit the new gun so they instead just got given a challenger which is funding them technically
