What are the guesses for the summer update?
It’s usually naval focussed, so maybe Submarines or something?
So what you guys thinking about April Fools this year? Any predictions? I would like to see SEAD event but I think it’s a bit too technical to be April Fools.
Something that 's happened a few times, but doesn’t seem to come up in discussing these, is that the maps the event mode takes place on comes back as a regular map later. Might happen this year too.
man a few years back we had inf as a april fools event, its gonna be SEAD/DEAD or ECM/EW focused as they said they wanna ad those before 5th gen in the 2nd half of this year, so april fools event will prob be that, and summer update might be that
I still think one of the big things for the summer update will be SEAD and maybe ECM along with it. past that maybe another sub-tree and maybe submarines. but I think SEAD in particular has a high chance of happening since afaik they said they would try to add it in the first half of the year and they did add a bunch of SEAD related modes to a few radars next patch.

Question; what’s the big deal about SEAD that makes so many people talk about it and look forward to it? I don’t seem to know much about it.
Isn’t it just… PVE’ing SAMs?

some people want it because it will supposedly help “balance” top tier SAMs or something. Honestly i am more interested in it for the possibility(albeit very slim) that they might add something interesting to ARB and air sim for the first time in like forever.
As it stand right now though i would be perfectly fine with it not coming because in reality its probably going to be poorly implemented and its going to make CAS at top tier even more of a nightmare to deal with and gaijin needs to fix top tier ground before adding something like ARMs
My personal hope (and a massive amount of copium) is that it will come with significant updates to the PvE side of ARB and especially ASB and its the reason why we havent seen a new Sim map in the better part of 4 years. This could include actually intergrating the objectives we saw with the deepstrike event into ASB, among other potentials.
From a GRB perspective, it will hopefully give some long overdue buffs to some of the weaker aircraft and a reason to use others. For example. I see 0 point ever bringing the Tornado GR4 to top tier, because its just worse than the Typhoon in every respect. Rippling off 9x ALARM might change that.
If they add SEAD/DEAD I genuinely hope it’ll stay in Air modes only, at least for a while.
GRB was dominated by CAS for years before we finally got these new SPAA. I think I’d quit top tier forever if they once again slung the favour back towards CAS so soon after. Especially since it isn’t even that lopsided in favour of SPAA anyway what with the KH-38MT and LMUR still being things.

Well balance is far from here…
Russia receiving another very OP SPAA while also receiving the BMPT, having the strongest battleship and coastal vessel, and having one of the best if not, the best, CAS in the game - the balance will be most likely: “x for Russia was underperforming, hence we gave it x”, which is most likely way better then every other nation counterpart.
I’ve heared people complaining so much regarding the unhealthy situation in anything around 10.3+ regarding Russia, about it being so encredibly good, that they just stop playing 10.3+ all together.
Even some youtubers nowadays are starting to complain.
I usually dont play 9.3 and above, but holy cow, its bad. Around 70-80% loss rate when fighting against Russia. Just BMPT’s and Arena’s stomping the entire match.
So the entire “balance” factor is not going to happen really. When SEAD or the other thing is going to be added, one nation will always be better then the rest - Russia. Mark my words. And then the entire hype ends up in more discussion posts about how OP Russia is, and one moderator who keeps closing all the discussions regarding it.

Im sure the soviets wont get a hypersonic ARM that inexplicably works waaaay better than everyone elses and for some reaosn cant be intercepted

I am also expecting them to skip over early ARMs in general in favor of skipping straight to stuff like AGM-88 and KH-31 and completely ignoring the existence of stuff like AGM-45/78 and KH-28/25MP/27
Nah, definetly gunna be Shrike vs KH-31. :P
But it does present an interesting balancing question though. Early ARMs would naturally appear on lower BR aircraft, which would add FnF where FnF might not already exist but at the same time, lower BR SPAAs would potentially be less affected by ARM…
So do you limit it to higher BRs only or do you allow weaker ARMs at lower BRs…
and what about existing aircraft at the FnF sort of range like:
Will the Tornado GR1 go up in BR because it gets ALARM?
Or how about the Buc S2B with AJ168 (ARM)

yeah… the A-4E with AGM-45s at 9.3 could be just a little busted depending on how they model the seekers. idk its one of those things we will just have to wait and see but i think gaijin might just intentionally skip certain aircraft/missiles for balance purposes, either way i am not expecting them to come into the game in a remotely reasonable state.

They will without a doubt be a buggy mess and flip flop constantly between being strong and weak

arm is unnecessary adding useless feautures right now every country other russia need SPAA there just wasting resources creating new problems instead of fixing old ones infantry shouldnt happen till they fix naval air and ground
