Hello guys, I’m curious to how you guys read this. Is the wording of this confirmation of 5th gens this year?
Specifically the user said we could expect 5th gens later this year, and Smin stated, “Yes that’s entirely correct.”

its confirmation that its a possibility as in it “could” come but its not confirmed per say
Look at what the user Smin quoted said, and that Smin said is correct.
The rest of the comment is important too.

I really hope this means we are getting the F-35s first. That they get some time to shine instead of being an obsolete addition after the F-22 etc have already been added.
A lot of new planes last year suffered from Gaijin being too quick with adding shiny planes like the F-15E/EFT/Rafale that were simply too much of a leap.
Yeah hopefully but also the J-35 alongside the F-35’s. That just leaves Russia without a 5th gen but they’d probably add the F-22, Su-57, and J-20 in the update directly after.

F-22 gets added probably an update or two later. Depends, really.
Also I don’t think the F-35s will be as ‘obsolete’ as you claim. Sure, they’re generally not any more useful than a F-15 WVR, however due to its tech it can do stuff the F-22 itself can’t do, so it’ll still be a capable aircraft even if they were added together.
Yeah they won’t be the best but should still be able to put up a decent enough fight. (F-35A that is as unless you use the VTOL on the B then the B and C will be much worse with the added weight and drag of the gunpod since those two don’t have internal guns.)
That’s the thing, the user’s comment and Smin’s affirmation of it goes a bit beyond what the community update blog says.
Oh yeah China should definitely get the J-35 at the same time.
Also doesn’t Russia have that super ugly Su-75? Or did they never build a full prototype for that?
I’d be happy, but I’m also biased since I want a Dutch F-35A that I can play.

Oh I meant obsolete in the same way as the J-10C, F-2A and all the Hornets were: Not bad or unusable, but highly iconic aircraft that were completely overshadowed by planes that were added too soon.
Maybe obsolete was the wrong word, but I couldn’t think of a different and better word to use.
IIRC it’s set to make it’s first flight sometime this year.
