That mode suffered from just the usual Gaijin way of slapping everything together and not caring about the results. But the FM of the planes feels much better now that some work was put into them.
That is more of it being separated into it’s own game and said game not marketed or handled well. The consensus from the people playing AoT that I’ve seen is that WW1 is where the game shines but given the games niche audience of flight sim/VR players not everyone will play it. But if put into WT it would certainly have more than the current 189 players through Steam that AoT has.
Unfortunately they are kinda silence on the topic of Romanian stuff, we still don’t even have an official “subtree” naming, only that their vehicles are “placed” in the Italian TT.
PS I have a suggestion about IAR-93A pending since november, does it take so long nowadays?
Yeah the wait is quite a while. I did have one get approved in early December that was pending since July. The wait is pretty bad for suggestions right now.
That sounds pretty much like I expected it to turn out lol
For WW2 VR flight sims you already have way better alternatives around and if you really want the WT gameplay, you can just play sim and use a VR headset, no need for a seperate port of the game (I’d imagine you don’t fiddle with the cockpit a lot in AoT anyways, if you have a HOTAS)
As for the playercount, while I’d agree that they would have more players on actual WT, it’s hard to tell if it would actually be even remotely popular.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d be happy for you WW1 enthusiasts if Gaijin implemented a seperate mode for you, so you can enjoy those vehicles in WT, as that might also lead to improvements for the earliest planes we currently have. Outside of arcade battles (and maybe as CAS in GRB) bi-planes and very early monoplanes aren’t very enjoyable, as even the small maps they already use feel way too big for the flight performance you get and the objectives you have.
As far as I can tell there are less than 50 people playing sim in the 1.0-1.7 bracket currently and I can’t imagine that count ever really gets much higher than that.
So, as it stands, the most effort I can see Gaijin putting into WW1 content is porting the plane models they already have over to WT and adding them through repeats of the WW1 event as event vehicles at 1.0 (basically as collectibles, as they wouldn’t even perform well, even in arcade battles lol)
It’s also volumetrics, and computers absolutely detest rendering that stuff, I’m not sure just how bad it is on online render engines, but offline we usually either comp it in post or we render separate passes to lighten render times.
they were the Backbone of German Mobile artillery throughout the war
I saw in the Suggestions that both had really interesting Discarding Sabot rounds made from smaller caliber existing shells like the 75mm, 88mmm and 128mm APHEs , sort of APHEDS if you’d want to call it that
No, they will raise the BR but I think they will try their very best not to give new next-gen missiles to any vehicles that are not already at the top BR of 14.7 because it will give the devs more difficulties than what it’s worth.
