I know one difference for sure, It will have “heavy air” instead of armor.

I agree but I would imagine Italy would get an Ariete C2 instead, the kf51 would have to probably be added at about the same time as the Abrams X and the t14
I have a fairly legitimate question.
The new mechanics that allow some medium tanks to engage aircraft. Italy doesn’t have any tanks that can do this, and even if they did, the Ariete don’t have timed HE or VT rounds, and the only one that does have HE is the 2A7HU, which unfortunately doesn’t have a docking system.
So the question is, will Italy have to wait for the KF51 or the Centauro 2 (although the only one that comes to mind is the Vulcano).
Both the c2 and the centauro 2 get the lothar SD sight (with have auto traking for air), but as far i am aware only the centauro 2 get to use multi-purpose ammo (such as dm11)

After Germany pulled out of the ASRAAM program specifically to build a missile designed around the philosphy of maximum maneuverability in a dogfight, you’d kinda hope it would be

Should be the best close range dogfighting missile. It will be over shadowed in the range departement by the ASRAAM and Mica IR tho.
It should be pretty likely, was in active development and at the very end stages of said development, all it needed was a software upgrade and to actually mount them. It was more close to being done than IRST on the YaK-141 which got it because it was planned so there should be no reason for the F-14D not to be able to get AMRAAMs.
But that being said Gaijin is Gaijin and will most likely deny it.

imo we are past the point already where it would be competetive / worth grinding (unless you are a huge f14 fan)

For range you just use a AMRAAM/Meteor, no need to use a IR missile ))))
I think it will get AMRAAMs (I just wanted to ask to see if would) especially since like you said theirs other vehicles with tech they tested that weren’t used in service That received them and then theirs the suggested su47 like it’s said for it to meet the suggestion criteria it needs provisions and plans for weaponry Much like the Yak 141 witch I’m pretty sure the f14D meets those criteria witch I think the f14D is going to be 13.3-13.7 and their is planes with better fox3 than aim54c at those br so I think it would be balance
