Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

I doubt WT infantry will reach that level of greatness, hell I doubt it will be even close.

It’s just a desperate measure of an addition, mostly 'cause one of their other projects cannot compete lol.
Gotta salvage as much as possible ( my theory just got confirmed after one of the datamined banners got found)

I still play it from time to time. Just a fantastic game that holds up so well to this day.

I’d like to see the S-70 Okhotnik and other stealth drones as researchable vehicles

They could add aircraft from after WW1 to bridge the gap between them and the current reserve vehicles.

There was also WW1 infantry weapons in one of the datamines. IIRC there was the MP-18, Lewis gun and the Fedorov Avtomat which are most likely just unused files brought over from Enlisted.

Infantry is the perfect way of introducing WW1 properly into the game, most tanks built during the war were designed for shooting at infantry, theres armoured cars, and a lot of planes with bombs were designed to dive on enemy trenches dropping light bombs/flechettes/grenades. The planes themselves could work in the current air mode already but infantry would give tanks an opportunity too.

Have you played enlisted? If so can you tell me if the movement in the WT infantry test is actually less clunky feeling than Enlisted or does it just look that way?

I thought the movement was better than it was in Enlisted. Especially with changing poses it didn’t feel like you had chronic back and knee pain.

Ok that’s nice to hear as one of my biggest complaints about enlisted(after the awful UI) was the movement always feeling clunky as heck all the time no matter what control setup i tried.

Yeah I know but for what they said during the Q&A, moods and infantry anything pre pases Korea date seems like a lucky dip now it just annoys me how War Thunder prides itself for the amount of vehicles it has throughout the ages but yet doesn’t want to touch the foundation era at all. With the modern scene coming to a close end in about 3 years time they need stuff around WW1 to create that wow again.

Their only 5th gen jets and modern tanks they can only add for a few more updates before going fictional, I mean there a reason why they’re adding infantry now is because they’re going to run out of other things and that what gets me about them. It’s always the next modern stage, what new missile can we add, what ways can we make the game more modern.

I mean like BvvD said himself that he would rather have smaller maps “as that what players want”, that’s perfect timing for WW1 stuff along with infantry. But as per usual BvvD has his modern blinkers on again.

Holy tech priests of Mars.

why dont you compare it with helicopters?
if you really want to compare with planes then look at a10a early with aim9 dual rails that carry only 1 aim9

Man i need turkey 🇹🇷 drone.

What I’m most looking forward to is the new M829A3 round for the M1A2 SEP V2, specifically.

I feel like you’ll be waiting for a looooong time lol

Maybe they SEPv3 will get that round

Also, doesn’t M829A2 already have the third highest pen value in the game?
Only DM53 (on some tanks the DM53 actually has less pen than M829A2) and the Object 292s APFSDS have more pen than it afaik

DM53 on L44 has slightly less than M829A2 iirc

Yeah, just checked on the wiki, the DM53 on the L44 has less velocity, resulting in less pen

didnt gaijin already say they wont add anti-era properties to the APFSDS rounds that have them? so i doubt we will see M829A3 anytime soon. Also its not like M829A2 has trouble killing things anyways.

That would explain why the Black Night and CR2E still use L27A1 ingame lol

Edit: well, after looking around on the web a bit, the CR2s being limited to L27A1 had nothing to do with that
Sadly it seems that L27A1 already is the best round the L30 gun can fire :(
