Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

We have been waiting for this particular test (well, implementation) since the suggestion was first accepted back in 2017… :’)

Like, I was a literal teenager when Regenerative Steering was finally accepted as a suggestion and now I’m now 26 lmao

I’m beginning to question whether I’ll even get to live to see present-day MBTs stop turning like 1920s caterpillar tractors…

Well, since the “introduction” of the current state of BP(or you can say “nerf” due to limiting rewards to only 2 new vehicles and 1 box) snail is actually stable at rotating rewards

Tank(main)+plane, tank(main)+ship, tank(main)+plane, plane(main)+ship
At every iteration there’s at least 1 change in type of reward. And it’s something like “1 plane as main reward per year” since 2023.
So yeah. Naval “free” reward is not possible since it’s a free reward in a current season. Not possible as a main reward either as there’s basically a rule for no naval main prizes(I mean, 0 main naval prizes since the beginning of BP in WT).
Plane as main reward is highly unlikely due to it being the main prize of current season.
That leaves us with tank(main)+plane

Yeah hope they have a box with air rewards. Hoping they bring back the Tandem Mai in the box again since I got the Detroit instead of it.

Vigilante to counter BMPT? That seems a little ambitious. Gaijin, where is my Vigilante, and TOW HMMWV, and LAV-25?

Hi Smin,

Sorry to bother you, I was just wondering if gaijin were aware of a few issues with the Ajax

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/AXU8kKgSDHLv

When it first released, the Ajax (correctly) had an armoured panel between the turret ammo and crew, however, this randomly (and incorrectly) disappeared. Are you aware if this was intentional or a bug?

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/htUmraD25QT0

The mantlet armour is also incorrectly modelled, while it should match the frontal turret armour (around 75mm effective) it is only 20mm, and is weak enough that even .50 caliber machineguns can penetrate it frontally.

If you have any information regarding these issues that would be great, if not then don’t worry

Thank you

Man, I wish there were more MBTs (or regular gun light tanks) with secondary autocannons, NATO 40mm grenade launchers (actual automatic grenade launchers, not smoke launchers), rocket launchers or even ATGM launchers

It’s a shame stuff like this has only recently really become a “common” feature on real life tanks

Spoiler

If only the Moderna wasn’t so expensive on the market :(

You got it wrong m8
It will be a vehicle that we already have in TT and there will be ZERO difference
Maybe another nation and camo, but it’s not a difference

Hey speaking of M8 (I know you meant mate), when will we get an M8 style vehicle for the TT (since it shouldn’t have been an event vehicle)?

i think the M1E3 CROWS-J has a Mk19 fitted, and a Javelin

What about an M8 Greyhound tho?

Spoiler

Greyhound with AML-90 turret
982x555
M8 with TOW launcher

Gaijin will tell us we have an M8 already and then point to the unobtainable one. US didn’t operate those M8’s though did they?

Hey. I will take a look at these this evening. I dont believe they are already known (forwarded somewhere else).

The TOW one was being operated by Colombia, but the upgrade was done by an American company (Napco) tho

The AML-90 one was built by GIAT in France, but I don’t think it ever went into service with any nation

French M20 Revalorisé

Thank you I appreciate that!

I have rewritten the mantlet report as I believe the only one was a bit of a mess, if you do have time to look at them, I would recommend this one over the old one. This dosen’t cover the gun shield though.

Thanks again

XM8 shoulda been an US TT vehicle as M8 Buford (similar to M10 Booker which met the similar fate) … Teledyne AGS, CCVL and others were fine being non-TT
the M8 alts are BAE MPF (XM1302) or the 120 XM8s (AGS 120, Thunderbolt, Lightning Bolt)

BAE AGS 120

Thunderbolt

Lightning Bolt

The AMRAAM-ER got a report accepted that it should have the 120D seeker head. I dont know if the seeker head have been changed yet, but it could show the difference between the two in game.

Edit: it was the C-8 guidance unit, my bad.

I mean, there is a TT M8 AGS, just not in the US TT lol

100% agree with this (except for CCVL, I like 50% agree with this), and that the XM8 should have been TT. Most likely, if the Lightning bolt or Thunderbolt get added, they will be event vehicles, seeing as how they have unique things to them (though I don’t agree with both being event vehicles). 120 AGS would give us a light tank with a gun larger than 105mm (which we don’t have too many options for), and XM1302 would give us that XM8 style tank in TT (plus an APS on a large caliber light tank).
