F-16XL can fit below F-15E with unlimited AIM-9Ms and AIM-7Ms, if it ever used.

What is the difference with the PSO Tipo 2 armour package on the Ariete PSO?
Only confirmed AIM-9’s that have been seen on it are 9L’s and the only radar missiles it could carry are AIM-120 however these were mockup missiles (but it supposedly live ones could work). Most likely will be around 13.3 since it’s just a modded F-16A (most likely a Block 15).

they could just use compatibility. it might be 13.3 SQV with 120 and 9M

They could but since the XL is based off the F-16A my guess is they will limit it to 9L’s.
This is Gaijin we are talking about, they’ll add whatever weapons they feel would make it the most attractive to players

My guess though would be that they’ll just give it the 4 x AIM-120’s (most likely A’s) and 2 x AIM-9L’s since that’s what it’s been seen with.

what engine does it use cause if it has the GE-129 that would make it peak
According to what I could find online it was using a GE-100
The Nasa page says it has a Pratt and Whitney 100-PW-100
I believe both the single seat XL-1 and the twin seat XL-2 use the Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-200 when they were being developed.
XL-2 did get the General Electric F110-GE-129 but only after it lost to the F-15E and was given to NASA for testings sometime around 1988.
From the 2026 decal it looks like it’s going to be XL-1 so sadly it’s going to have the worse engine.

Yeah but it that one has actually been seen IRL with those missiles. The XL has only been seen with 9L’s.
and its the most stupidly placed thing ever. It really should be 13.0 when compared directly to the Belgium F-16A and Netz

there are multiple Su-30MK’s at 13.3 that would be outright better than the F-16XL even with 9M and 120’s, so i think its fine if they give it 9M’s as well
I found this from a NASA book online called Elegance in Flight about the XL.
Page 93.
So as expected it should have the F-16A avionics but again no info on the exact radar since if it was being tested for AIM-120 then it would need to have had the improved AN/APG-66 that the ADF has and which is mentioned as being the plan for if the XL went into full production.
Although they could also go for the Yak-141 route and give it it’s planned equipment if it went into full service.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this came in for the F-16 line for a rank IX option
My bet is that at least these aircraft will be moved to rank IX so to give rank 8 more room
I doubt they would. It would quite literally be the ADF but you can carry loads of bombs.
The rank 9 F-16 is most certainly going to be the C PoBIT since it’s actually an upgrade to the C Block 50 we have now.
