so where was I… ah yes Missiles
would AAM-5/IRIS-T/Python-5/AIM-9X really break the game at this point?
I remember the last times we had this discussion, then about AIM-9L and ARH in general the mainstream Idea was that they’d be very Overpowering, and then came to the game sort of Surprisingly when nobody really expected it
we’ve reached this point again, IMO IIR WVR Missiles wouldn’t break the game too much if they were added in the near future, especially if every nation gets an E-Scan Capable Jet

Just properly seperate this stuff from planes without such weapons
Or add relevant countermeasure at the same time
we should get proper bvr maps first, but that would kill the hype for advance ir missile
yes yes ofc, a New top BR would be needed
but imo like with ARH we could relatively quickly adapt to these missiles by just changing the Meta playstyle again
and then to add, IMO as long as the Lower planes that can meet IIR Missile carriers already have ARH missiles they will not become obsolete
well for that they would have to model BOL correctly, which is one of the relevant countermeasures
also iirc BVVD said that we will only see those missiles once everyone has a plane with MAWs

we already have plenty of nicely sized EC type maps in Air RB
ofc we’ll need more, or rather want more, but that wouldn’t break the discussion either
As I say if gaijin wants to add more sub’s nations for the future in which as we all know is happening, then gaijin needs to add everything from that sub nation if they have room to do so.
If not and is willing to bar certain additions because of players will kick off then I think we seriously need to think of a rework on how subs are implemented, I’ve always liked the idea of tabs for subs nations.

Having access to ARHs definitely should be the minimum to able to compete with planes carrying IIR missiles, but I still think that proper countermeasures (preferably a healthy amount as well) are way more important
no what i meant is bigger maps for bigger players base, exemple you can get in sim and play both boats ( modern one ofc) and planes with 2000km open world with awacs and refuel plane, but that would also push gaijin to add cruise missile and bomber
Not this week for sure. Next week is a higher possibility.(but still not set in stone, there are some variables)

I think something that should be needed is variable BR’s for ordinance. That way with the introduction of more advanced missiles people have the option to use them but at the cost of a higher BR or stick with the “worse” missiles so to speak. Also avoids needing to have to grind the exact same vehicle just for a new missile.
I think it could work if done through modifications. As an example if we see AIM-9X added then if you select that modification once unlocked it would raise the BR, but unselecting it would lower your BR.

An early F-22 would be on par with what we have right now, but Gaijin probably won’t add that before they do their fifth gen update where almost everyone gets a F-35, the USSR gets their Su-57 and China gets whatever their appropriate fifth gen would be
