I really doubt it’d be a slight step up due to the nature of the missile and it being dual pulse. The PL-15 singlehandedly pushed the US to pursue the AIM-260 due to the sheer kinematic advantage dual pulse missiles have at long range. It also should not be easy to outmaneuver like the Phoenix considering it’s the same size as the PL-12 and retains very similar control fins. It should still be as maneuverable as the AIM-120A at least.

IRL yes I doubt it’d be a slight step up, but the question is what information the developers will have at the time of its implementation, and if there’s little to no official sources paired with the missile having very similar dimensions to the PL-12, then it makes one wonder if PL-15 would suffer the same fate as the AIM-120C.
Is there official info about it being dual pulse?
