Yeah. No idea why though
Helis that are in a hover are invisible on most (if not all) aircraft radar and any ARH missile fired at them can be instantly defeated with a little chaff because they are essentially in a notch.
IRL, the rotor blades should create a constant and rather large PD signature that should mitigate this affect.
Ground radars seem to be hard coded to detect helis in a hover. but the new ARH SAMs are extremely hard to use against them because of the aforementioned defence.
(this same tactic works with the Harriers in ARB)
Ah i understood yes one example of the same effect is the f84f thunderscreech it also made radar signature big one because of his propeller like on the helis yes this should be fixed
Yep, currently that isnt modeled
sadly
Yeah but it has been over a month and no fixes have been made. Very frustrating playing an AA that doesnt track anything and cant go over 30 kilometers without losing all its speed.
pretty sure that can be fixed with a good lofting profile but… heh… thats pretty much the case for every single missile that has that feature. this has been something that has been pissing me off ever since the hellfires were first added
Wt sloptuber thumbnail fame 😭
Is this for the Community notes ?
it was for the CM disclosure 2 months ago
On the rotors part. Yes and no. Yea it can detect, however that doesnt mean the ability to get a full lockon, mostly because the beam is being constantly reflected in hundreds of random directions and not allways directly back to the radar. It still requires the Heli to be close enough IRL for an actual lockon
considering we already spawn in eachothers mouthes i dont think that is much of an issue
It would still beat out the total invisibility helis have currently
preferably theyd also add a second type of ground spawn a fair bit behind the usual tank spawns exclusive to AA’s, then spawn planes a lot further away
Genuinely gonna crash out when Gaijin inevitably tries to market the F/A-18E as a worthy upgrade over the F/A-18C Late, as if it fixes anything other than the radar…
At least a F-16C PoBIT, F-15C Late, F-15E RMP, or F-15EX would be closer to being able to contend with the Eurofighter and Rafale due to their speed.
Knowing how well maps are designed and planned out these far spawns would be perfectly visible to the other teams tank spawns leading to AA’s getting spawn killed.
That or they are too far out to be viable.
they already are. having played around with the buk for a bit i often have to keep the launcher moving so it doesnt poke up all the time. at least that way you can put a treeline between them so you at least dont see them the second they spawn and they can stay lazy because they dont need to edit maps a lot for it
Elde is the second best competing anti air right now
besides it not realy being able to move sure
Beside the agility, the elde is working great, i can say much better than the Buk, pantsir and its competitors, except the SLM, once you launch the Iris, radar toggle off and the missile connects 90% of the time, but LDIRCm should be nerfed because IRIS coudnt be blinded by them, atleast fully, its homes on jam, laser
