This version has internal cannons and provides a Multirole light strike fighter for the British tree. With decent A2A and strike capacity at a BR where the airframe is not easily outmatched by everything around it.

If I had a guess it’s probably we can have a aircraft with a 25mm that’s not a A: Pure ground attack aircraft and B: Mounted in the chassis instead of a gunpod
