Yeah, Ive felt they are a little different. Let alone the fact that the IRCCM just… doesnt work in front aspect. At all. The missile literally goes for flares.
Id try to bug report it, but it would probably either not be accepted (claiming that a primary source is needed to show the IRCCM works in front aspect) or sit in limbo for years
It acts just like a 9L in front aspect, even my R73s dont go for flares at close range for a frontal shot, its been swaying my view of the AIM-9M from the best missiles over to the R-73
thousens or reports were made from day 1 since every single missile in existence is inside of this wonderfull game. even with reports done the answers through the report section was the following one: “thank you for information, the suggestion would be passed to the devs” or from the devs “hello, thanks for you time and information, the devs thinks that adding such a weapon with “x” capability would be too strong for now”, jesus christ this even happened with the stingers long time ago, it was COMPLETLY PROVED that the stinger could reach a maximum overload of 22G and the answer from the devs was “take 13Gs or leave it” come on bro everything that the devs says cant be taken seriously because of this past experiences that the community had with them.
So you mean the FoV is as “big” as the TY-90 FoV ?
You know, the TY-90 known for being basically unflarable
Btw, the TY-90 also have the double IRCCM
What you’re asking is basically a plane-borne version of the quite OP TY-90 with a much greater range for one single nation
Yep, its really wierd and frustrating… I’ll have a chat with Gunjob at some point. See if he reckons its even a reportable issue. But between the terrible lock ranges and the IRCCM not working 50% of the time. Im not really sure why I bother equipping them on the Typhoon
Don’t forget the over-ambitious IOG which drifts into nirvana at neck-breaking speeds when trying to lock-on and the target is flaring (or refusing to lock on at all) and the shut-off time which is currently somewhere around 1-2 seconds.
Yeah, and they’ve just made them vastly more visible too. Im tenative to say the Aim-9M is no longer a competitive top tier AAM anymore. Its okay at 12.3 where you can exploit bad premium players, but top tier? Not really anymore
the TY-90 can be flared with no problem from front aspect and rear aspect you need to do the same thing you do with the 9M, AAM-3 if you are dumb enough to keep giving your side to the missile dont expect to evade it, also preflaring is needed with the TY-90 i dont even remember the last time since i died to a TY-90 XD when you understand how the missiles works its way easier to deal with them.
are there any plans in the distant to combine the two AGM-179s into one missile and add the ability to switch modes? (as well as any other missiles it can be done with of course)
Ive seen some truly insane R-73 shots that missed by mm and the person is complaining about how bad the R-73 is because it failed to kill and im sat there looking at the video wishing for anything even half as good
I bet you they didn’t wrote it in the changelogs because they knew there would be a huge backlash so they just silently pushed this change through in the hopes not many notice it.
It’s time for a whole IR system overhaul. This is something I would like to read on a major update. No vehicles, just game-modes, maps and mechanics being overhauled or massively polished.
