Range isnt the only factor here. Range is a factor when looking at advanced modern weponary like Spear-3 IR, which has not only range but an IR seeker head for target aquisition.
What about when we have asked for base SPEAR-3 with GNSS and that was denied on range, also IR has a max track range of 16-20km if range was an issue for IR why is the KH38MT in the game with a 70km range IR seeker?

Are there many weapons at top tier with IR FnF guidance that are range limited rather than being limited by the size of the map?
If there are, I agree with Smin, if there aren’t I disagree, but also Spear 3 was only just drop tested, so kinda also can see smins point.

So if they give it a decent load out of 2xSkyFlashes + 2x9P/9L and it’s gunpod, @ ~10.3-11.0. I think it would do mighty fine and fill the fighter gap between the Hunter F.6 and the Phantom.
They could also go mad and give it ASRAAM and AMRAAMs but I think Gaijin would be sensible…

Not really the only weapons at top tier that are more limited by range then the map is Brimstones but they SAL and not FnF, you could say MAVs since they dont have GNSS so their max range is the range at which you can actually lock the ground which is I think 30km

We havent said anything regarding a GNSS Spear-3. The question and answer was regarding the Mmw and IR Spear 3 variants.
If SPEAR-3 has to much range why not SPEAR-Glide as its completely unpowered so would have as much range as you have height and speed

well then I guess is it possible the EFTs will get a GNSS SPEAR-3 as some form of GBU-39 equivalent?
I wouldn’t put it past them.
Although once we see ASRAAM it could be cool to get a late Hawk 200 with AMRAAM + ASRAAM.
