Would make for a nice general addition then, wouldn’t have to he tied to a subtree
FCK1 and FA-50 are equally probable now, and that’s unnerving sometimes.
I want both.
Technically the MRF Acquisition Program still hasnt conclusively revealed a winner. Our Dept. of National Defense (DND) is still working on securing the loan needed to buy it, just that Philippine procurement laws is strictly prohibitive on using loans so he has to work it out with the Dept of Finance - its expected a contract will be signed by yearend. From what I know only Sweden has expressed that its willing to loan the program 100%.
There are 3 MRFs being considered right now, first is the F-16V Block 70/72 from the US, second is the Gripen E/F from Sweden, and third is the Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 5 from the UK. From the scant hints told by officials, its most likely going to be the Gripen E/F but its a close tie with the F-16V Block 70/72.
For now the interim fighter is the KAI FA-50PH with an additional 12 recently contracted for the BVR capable Block 20/70 variants. Whats taking the MRF Program so long tho is that aside from the prohibitive usage of loans for defense acquisitions, the DND actually wants it to be a complete package with AWACS and Tankers.

There is no shortage of Leopards possible for Germany, nobody disputed that. But other nations are more directly in need of new MBTs than Germany currently is. So again, whilst new Leopard variants are a future possibility for Germany, they shouldn’t be expected soon. Regardless of if they are 2A6 or 2A7 based.
Its just annoying for the german community that sweden has the better overall leopard line up.
When we definitly could fill that.
Germany just doesnt seem to show its leopard speciality, compared to where everywhere else the leopards are.
Germanys most unique leopard likely the the 2 pso right now with the rcws. But directly after the strv 122b+ got added with even better armor again. Cause gajin didnt wanna add the beak part of the PSO.
I think it just comes down to the fact that it would take just a little more effort to take the export variant of these Leopards and put them in the German tree. It would be nice to have a lineup more comparable to what Sweden has, where they have access to 3 up-armored Leopard 2s alongside a copy of one of Germany’s top Leopards (the Finnish 2A6).
The 2A7+ and 2A6EX would be nearly identical to the 2A7HU and 2A6HEL that get added to their respective trees. It’s just that the German variants may require some retexturing, new skins, and a new place in the TT (as far as I’m aware).
Although I could see myself oversimplifying the process, so if this is inaccurate, let me know.
Born to say plane, forced to select bote
The past few years US, UK and USSR have consistently received more and more top tier rank 8 aircraft. They have a massive pool of vehicles to add, they deserve to get them and they do receive them.
However, why doesn’t this logic also apply to ground vehicles? There are a plethora of high tier/top tier ground vehicles left to add for US, Germany, USSR, France, China, etc… and yet barely any of them get added compared to the air trees.
Its not so much about how difficult a vehicle may be to make or not. Naturally any new Leopard 2A5/6/7 is likely going to be a variant of or modification to an existing one.
Its more a case of, again, other nations being more in need than Germany currently is for a new MBT. Germany is not struggling or in any poor position balance wise currently in terms of MBT performance at top tier. Far from that.
Btw @Smin1080p_WT with the plans of a cyprus/greece addition to Israel soon, and a tier 1-3 passed to devs proposal for Israel, is there any chances we could be expecting low rank israel “soon”?
For quite some time aircraft technology was far behind that of ground. So the past couple have been about bringing aircraft up to speed to a position that ground was too. Naturally more ground expansion will come too.
It was not said that Greece / Cyprus would be soon. Its planned. Like Korea, that doesnt mean it should be expected soon.
oh well, i guess its just a plan then, again; is there any plans to give Israel low ranks? or devs havent considered it
