I’ve actually been comparing it more closely to the F15C, which is actually lighter than the Echo super hornet, as well as similar in size!
The weight increase was bigger than the engine power increase iirc. So it still ends up worse than the legacy hornet flight performance wise.

even if, with those giant missiles that thing will definitely be a subsonic plane
their theoretical max range will be very limited by that
The F-2A is supposed to out-rate the F-16, that’s the point of its design.
And said wing design also makes instantaneous turns easier as well.

Much definitely. Block I Super Hornet is actually worse than Legacy Hornet in terms of WT performances.
I wonder what Block we will be getting though.
Honestly don’t think an AESA radar can save the Super Hornet in WT. What good is a capable radar set if the airframe isn’t capable of properly employing those weapons at proper speeds etc. Missiles fired from it are just going to be less potent than if they were fired by an F15 or F16 imo.

Maybe one of many J15 variants or a J10B/C for China, Russia could probably get a new Fulcrum, more ‘low-end’ 4.5 gen options
Is there anything that can actually save it though? I mean the only thing I can see it being really good at is ECM , which we don’t have yet, apparently

Well if they refuse to add 5th Gens who knows? Maybe they’ll invent a few UFOs, or those tic tac things that are flying over US carriers.
Maybe either the F-15EX or maybe have another F-16 update with the C PoBIT/V Block 70, the F-16I Sufa and possibly an upgraded F-2 for the December update.
There’s still quite a big gap between what we have now and 5th gens.

Probably an F-16C, F-15C or F-15E with AESA.
Thing is I don’t think the Super Hornet is good enough or hype enough to be a december update main vehicle.

Neither are the others. What exciting additions for the year’s biggest update huh? Airframes we already had, some since 2022. I just don’t understand gaijin sometimes…
