Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

does it have good bass on the speakers for the 3d audio system?

Nope, Germany uses AIM-120B. We did purchase C-8, but we’ll have to wait and see if those end up on the EF or are just for F-35

Required by UK law to add the full clip too

To bad Germany is installing the gripens EW suite on the Eurofighter, that advantage will be gone in a couple years. I do wonder if it’ll end up on normal EFTs tho, or just stay on the EK

Edit: Looks like German T5 will use Arexis instead of Pratorian.

So at least in their arsenal, but yeah. no idea if that would be good enough for Gaijin

Thailand is purchasing Gripen-Es, so that’s an option for Japan until the JSI is finished

Doubt so. AREXIS is much more jamming based, so what they need for EW variant. DASS is more self protection based.

Apparently they’re going for it tho. German T5 appear to be getting Arexis instead

405 again

Welp, good for them

Yeah, that would be a good option

Thailands Gripen E will be delivered in 2029, so probably not far off from the JSI that’s said to be done by around 2030.

The closest we could probably get before that is Indonesian Rafale next year, which is still another year. Besides just adding more advanced weapons to existing airframes of course, but that’s not exactly matching up to the same weapons on superior platforms for others.

We’ll have to wait and see what they do withwise of vehicles on order but not yet delivered. Same for ground too.

I’d say the biggest issue is that before they are at least produced we can’t really get an accurate depiction of them.

Sure, for the Gripen E it might just be that we are missing a camo that can be taken from promotional material, but it could also be equipped to a certain specification we don’t know before it actually exists.
Then for the JSI we don’t even have an aircraft to base it on. We know some things it will include, but not what exactly it should be. Chances are if they added it now, it would turn out to be complete fiction in a few years.

So I doubt they’d add either, even if there’s at least a slight chance for the Gripen still since for all we know so far it’ll be just a standard Gripen E.

Can always be fixed later, but just looking at the Gripen Cs, they’ll probably just make some wierd amalgam anyway.

Again we dont need the E right now when the NG exists and would be a better platform for them to test before they shove another gimped 420krp grind on swedens air tree for the 5th time.

So Gripen NG for Aim-9M + Aim-120B
Gripen E for IRIS-T + Aim-120B
Gripen E (late) for IRIS-T + Meteor

:P

Figured the C5 on the NG and 9X/IRIS-T as its more likely wed get that before EW. Or we could get the different NG models to separate them like one with or without the IRST sensor on the nose and have them have 9M or IRIS-T.

Also no such thing as a Late Gripen E, congrats you do sound like gaijin when it comes to creating fictional jets so for a second i could’ve mistaken you for a dev.

Add Malaysia so Japan can get an Su-30 clearly

Spoiler

Anyone else getting 405 errors?

They could just bump the existing F-2 to 14.0 and give it the AAM-4B with really any one of these 4 features:

  1. Better chaff/notch resistance, incredibly hard to fool
  2. Ignores multipathing completely
  3. Slightly better engine/more energy and better guidance mechanisms
  4. Always use datalink, if F-2 maintains lock, missile cannot be fooled

Any one of these would make it unique and potent. While the AAM-4B could be used by the F-15J(M), I think it would be nice for the F-2 to have something special for a while.

Yes, it’s quite annoying and going on for a few weeks now
