Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

iirc it tries to solve an Aerodynamic problem with Thrust vectoring

which will work, partially, at the cost of sustained turnrate and energy retention

not even range apparently

Thrust vectoring? Actually?

if it’s what I think it is?.. if not then expect 500 comments flaming me for getting it wrong

Can’t find it online.

It does have advanced fbw

the EX dosent have TVC

Well that’s one glorious failure then
How did they even manage to fumble so hard

the FBW will not change the areodynamics of the jet so you shouldnt expect the FM to be drastically different from other F-15s in WT

I just want a good dogfighter without having to grind another tt

(Legacy is good, could be better)

but it’s Heavier so it’ll be slightly worse?

Pretty sure the structure was changed to be lighter
My memory might be failing me though

Are you certain?(I’m coping)

might be lighter compared to the F-15E

more thrust helps in sustained turnrate performance the question is if it has enough thrust to compensate for its weight

I think you just have to give up on dogfighting for top tier US.

helps with sustained, yes, but doesn’t help with Instant turnrate

Just have to wait on f22 ig

i think so as well

the US hyper specialized into BVR and did not hesitate to give up WVR performance for it (look at the F-15E)
meanwhile europe and russia have still been trying to keep some amount of WVR performance

very certain

the USAF chose stealth over Manouvreability, unlike everyone else, when developing their next airframes 40 years ago

even tho having a stake in the MBB X-31 which was a german Supermanouverable testbed

That would be weird and a first. Usually every variant of a vehicle is always heavier, can’t recall any later variant of a vehicle where it got lighter.
