At this point just add in Iran

One of the community managers came out and said that Czechoslovakia is not a subtree for Russia nor that it is planned to be one.
Also if you don’t find F-35 and F-16 controversial in Russian tree, you probably don’t find occupation and invasion of Czechoslovakia either. Plus we use and used much more westernized stuff compared to eastern equipment. (And ofc extremely big amount domestic stuff)

Personally I really enjoyed the UK grind for air and ground, plenty of fun lineups and vehicles to use! Balance can be on both sides of the spectrum, let’s not hope there’ll be too much cope haha.

Sadly, the opinion of players that are from/enjoy the subject (non host tree(for ST or otherwise)) nation, seems to not matter.

That doesn’t count as “really really bad though”

it could just be me but i still dont get it. i bet most of the current players werent even alive back then. besides, czech line being taken as an example, people could get a much stronger lineup if they accepted that warthunder is a game and not a reflection of politics

We just need some answers.

I did enjoy the UK stuff for the most part, just wished there were certain vehicles in each branch (not because I think the UK is weak, just because it will be cool).

Also another obligatory asking where is the Avro Manchester.

It also uses Real Historical Vehicles.

Just a game, falls through when history is in play.

I mean there isnt a lot of space in the first place considering this is the USSR tree we are talking about, probably even less that the soviets could patch themselves.

The main issue for me is that if Czechoslovakia goes to the USSR, there’s a good chance we lose most of the indigenous vehicles like India. So when weighing up the options, Czechoslovakia being independent would bring the most vehicles over all, even more if Poland or Ukraine are given as subtrees.

True, I doubt anyone wants to see the F-16 and Grippen flying with the SU-27

fair point, but they cant just grab links between countries just because its politcally convenient for the current day.
where else would you put it?

Czeckoslovakia and Poland have a lot to add, it’s funny thinking that equipment designed to counter Russia would go with Russia

Not only that but gaijin said they want to add independent nations, yeah what with ???

This wouldn’t even be political , Czechoslovakia can easily hold its own in all main branches barring naval (which Israel showed wouldn’t matter). Poland and Ukraine both cooperated extensively with with Czechoslovakia and/or with its successor states and would provide bonus options as well.

what about matchmaking

As far as i see there should be some delimitation and at least the US and USSR trees should only have NATO and Warsaw vehicles respectively, not mixed and matched.
At least in those 2 nations, Britain and Germany already have a mix of both because of India/GDR, and i think instead of adding a mixed NATO/WARSAW subtree to USSR they make it it’s own thing.

Indeed, not just them, there are a good few nations with plenty to add.

But instead people want them as ST with <10% of anything they used, in a nation that doesn’t need them, to it’s wrong for them there, just because they want one C&P that could have had something from the host tree instead.
