It was a bit more then just that too, people forget the British Indian Army had its own armaments and procurement doctrines and systems too, they didnt even fully adopt the BREN gun until WW2 was in full swing as an example and had their own armoured car programs (didnt have the practical tech knowledge and experience to go too far beyond this which is why the Vickers MBT was such a big deal of a program).

Oh yes, of course! Thats exactly what I meant by their own structure, they had distinct procurement systems and equipment choices. If I recall correctly, they even had their own SMLE rifle variant too!

It was an export option and there was a non-Thai prototype. It’s not much different from what Thailand tested, but it had an M2HB .50 cal mounted and might have used a different M41 chassis than the Thai M41A3.

In theory they can just add them into existing lines. We at least got similar things with Thai and Swiss air, where they only got semi-lines.
I won’t say US / USSR need subtrees, but if Gaijin want them to, they will get them.
