I agree on that. As for ew, I don’t think the argument really works because anyway we MUST get much larger maps in the future at top tier or it will just be madness considering the missiles used
I think we’re already in dire need of larger maps and a mode rework with the current planes and weapons… so definitely agree
Yep. About the J-16 btw, I know it’s great for air superiority but I’m pretty sure it was also designed to be better at strikes/sead than the J-11s and also I think it was meant to replace the JH-7, do I think it fits a comparable role to the F-15E/EX and that’s why I put it in strike line… idk though
It has better A2G capabilities compared to the J-11 but i believe the only notable difference is it gets a slightly higher MTOW and it gets acess to the KD-88 and some guided bombs. China doesn’t really do CAS in the same way as Russia
It’s definitely a Multirole aircraft but I wouldn’t say it’s a strike fighter.
The last strike fighter of the PLA is the JH-7
Well people often call it a strike fighter, but there isn’t really a defined limit between simply multirole and strike fighter, so idk. But it works in line 2 as well I guess… it’d still be rank 9 because there’s already 3 non foldered vehicles in that line at rank 8
Ranks ain’t that important anyway, we’ll probably see 14.0 vehicles in rank 9 because of a lack of space
I gotcha, I’m just not too big a fan of adding more and more modern things because the important info on them is often classified, and then you get values for specs from where?
Gaijin just makes things up for unknown information. Like the CS/SA5 all the electronic equipment on it is made up there are 0 sources for it yet they’ve still added it.
As long as they add them in a realistic/believable fashion I don’t mind things being made up it’s a game after all not real life
Man the rules for how many things can go where in the tree just sound so silly…
just make the tree a bit longer? Or add another line
What I always wondered is why is the tree structured like an Excel file instead of an actual tree with branches? It would make more sense imo and be cool
Because that’s how aircrafts are developed irl, in a sorta genealogy
This sounds like a wayy better way of doing it
And we could make that some vehicles that aren’t required to grind a certain vehicle still speed it up, for example the F-15E would branch from the F-15C but with a cheaper grind if you have the F-111F. That’d reward players who grind the whole tree
I think there should be a balance. There should be both lower and higher BR stuff, no focus on one or the other, especially in the more played modes(we could see how desperate Gaijin was for naval players in the last update).
Take me, I love it when I get something in the tech-tree at any BR below 5.7 GRB, but I’m happy when I see air ones as well. Getting only top-tier stuff would make me not want to play the game anymore, much less spend money.
Sadly, top-tier injoyers try to hide behind unattainables, but I call them unobtainium for a real resion.
What does this even mean?
I’m assuming events or overpriced premiums. Stuff like the IRAF F-14 and Mirage 2000C-S4.
I don’t think so. Event vehicles are available to everyone and it’s not something to hide behind?
100% there should be a balance, but how often do we get something in the middle to lower ranks compared to things in the higher ranks? Ideally they should start adding more vehicles per update, and not necessarily more in quantity only, but more tech tree vehicles rather than premiums.
I’m hoping they actually use folders to it’s full potential tbh. The max size is 7 per folder (SM.79 in Germany) and there are plenty of folderable vehicles across many tiers (especially coastal).
That way the 3 vehicle per line limit can be circumvented and lineups can actually be bulked up, whether it be by unique folder vehicles or slight upgrades.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there are games on Roblox that better tech tree systems (or a menu like that) than War Thunder.
Events, BP, Premiums, all of which are unobtainium.
Anything that can’t be gotten casually. Grinds like events and BPs are full-time jobs; they take so much grind, you’re left with burnout (and the recommendation for a full-time job just to GE them as it’s cheaper on time). Plus, if you missed it, you can’t get them, even less so for console.
Premiums, well, the cost real money, so…
If you can’t get them as F2P(with no time limit), they shouldn’t be counted like the F2P top tier stuff that’s added to the TT(so no time limit as well). (This does mean both sides get to remove unobtainiums from their counts)
Using folders to their max and giving sub-trees their own tabs would give all nations much more potential.
As someone who doesn’t mind “C&P,” I think having them foldered underneath domestic equivalents, when applicable, is a good idea. Plus, the more domestic stuff that could be put into folders.
As for sub-trees, giving the room of a full tree is self-explanatory, as none of them have enough room(nor do any nation’s people want as a sub-tree, to be stuffed into one line(or half a line). Well, keeping the upsides of sub-trees.
