The D is almost 2tonnes heavier with the same engine
its not 2 tons heavier

Compared to the A it is and about a tonne over the B
So it’s literally impossible for it to retain the same flight performance with the same engine but heavier
a model had weakest thrust but was the lightest D is only 3500Lb than A model every variant is a 1000lb addition
the B model only gets a slightly better FM for worse Sensors and equipment
still higher TWR than F18 could dream BTW

That’s a 2000 pound increase
where talking about us jets we use american numbers
A = 38,188lb empty weight
B = 39,150lb empty weight
D= 41,780lb empty weight
F14D still maintains 1.02:1 TWR compared F14B 1:05 TWR while having worse sensors and equipment F14A is .91:1
F14D is fully digital and has IRST so it search with no warning intergrated ECM better RWR and better reliability

It’s probably better in real life yeah. But WT is a game and in terms of WT it’s just a heavier B with some slight weapon upgrades
IRST and a better radar is simply not worth the br increase to fight the current to dogs in uptier city
its not a slight upgrade its a full upgrade you clearly havent played the AWG-9

It won’t magically kill the enemy team… it’s still hindered by mediocre weapons like the AIM-7 and AIM-54
AIM7P to M is a huge buff same with 9m to 9L aim54C eccm sealed is only slight upgrade
AIM 7P is no joke of a missile
AIM54 ingame is bad cause gaijin makes it that way why you using it anyway carry more sparrows waste of space AIM54
The AIM-7 is bad when you put it against all other FOX-3 singers when the F-14D gets placed at 13.3-13.7
