I heavily doubt that, they already studied twin engine configurations originally. Why they chose single we don’t know but perhaps for things like super cruise they’ve reevaluated and decided a slightly larger twin configuration might be more optimal for their future projects.
Who knows maybe it’s a fillin for the navy’s 6th gen which is rumoured to be getting axed soon. A better 35C could carry them over for a good while
Whilst we are on this topic, I am thinking about just how will these newer missiles will be implemented. Cause from a couple of these recent conflicts that must not be named, the long ranged missiles are used in combination with early warning aircraft. If we don’t have those implemented, stuff like AIM174 B carriers or R37M carriers won’t actually have enough radar range for them to be used at full range.
