Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Little off-topic, I finally grinded every nation’s bluewater and coastal tech tree with French coastal at last.
I can’t remember how much money and time I grinded for this.

Not as modern as WT mobile now has. Nothing in WT is really still in service. I mean OBJ 956 is now in WT mobile, still six of them active today. No where in sight for WT.

First of all, are you ok?

Secondly, help is there if you need it.

This much dedication in a dead mode is insane

That genuinely sounds awful, I grinded German Bluewater ready for the Bismarck and that was torture and that was only picking up from where I left it at the start of Rank 5.

the non-early phantoms were literally equipped with guns for air-air because the missiles proved insufficient during the vietnam war and the phantoms suffered many losses against migs
For the F-35 it’s different, but the F-4s were actually equipped with guns for air-to-air

No. Those guns were purely for air to ground operations. Not aie to air. The Phantom having a gun for air to air is a literal myth thats been disproven for decades

That’s not what I’ve heard anywhere… What source do you have on that being a myth?
I can believe you and I’m not surprised if it is, but I can’t just trust someone on a forum like that

Will there any devblog tonight?

We’ll know… tonight

I guess no

sad

This article here goes into some depth for the whole gun. The reason why many assume the gun was for air to air roles is due to pilot testimony, but it was something already under consideration for primarily aie to ground usage. With the gun pod on the F-4C it had no syncing to the gun sight as the sight was originally designed for aiming missiles, rockets, and bombs, which made it difficult to aim the gun at ground targets and even more difficult to aim at air targets. There is also testimony that for air to ground operations a flight commander did not want his wing operating the centerline gunpod as it tool up valuable space for bombs

Hope it’s not a bother, but is there somewhere I can ‘ask’ why the Namer weighs 64 tons? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an expert at tanks or, in general, warfare vehicles, but according to different some sources (official and unofficial) the hull comes from the Merkavas. The Merkavas 1/2/3/4 weigh 61/63/65/65 tons respectively (besides the Mk 4M which weighs half a ton more). Taking into account that the Namer is 64.4 tons, (unless they added more armor/weight) this would mean that the turret of the Merkavas weigh 1 ton give or take. Now, I’m approaching this with common sense rather than with sources all over the place, but a turret can’t weigh ‘only’ 1 ton as unarmored as it might be. So I wanted to ask if there’s a reason (different components and all of that) it is true that I haven’t taken the 30 mm gun into account but I’m quite sure it doesn’t weigh the same as a turret made of steel alloys and much bigger with armoured parts. Thanks and do have in account that I’ve taken this with common sense rather than any reliable sources one might get. I just want to understand the reason of the assigned weigh.
I hope this post doesn’t sound aggressive but if it does, I’m truly sorry.
Edit: Thought about it, instead of having to asume the turret weighs 1 ton, it’s half a ton if we assume the Merkava 3/4’s hulls as the foundation of the Namer.
