Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

All it would really require is the cockpit to be changed. Although they might be waiting for the 9Xs to give the MLU1 which makes me concerned with how long it will take.

Smin confimed there are no plans for multiple F-18’s for sweden regarding the MLU, additionally the next F-18 is confirmed to be the MLU 2. Additionally there are no plans for more F18’s after this model so yes they are skipping MLU 1

Just the casual we see that the tech tree currently lacks any useful vehicles for air so enjoy getting the worst model while we skip the one that should’ve beeen added because modeling a unique cockpit and making the Finnish one on par A2A wise would take away from the uniqueness of the US. (Paraphrasing but yes this was offcial logic given by him, “uniqueness”)

Ok back to my hibernation/vacation from this horrible place

and not wanted with hindsight.

been nothing but cruddy C&P of USSR vehicles. If I wanted to play them id play USSR, not Britain

If only this logic was consistent with stuff like the CF-18

That logic never works since we have tech in game now that isn’t independent so if I want to play Canadian tech I can’t play Canada because it’s not their.

It’s hardly Canadian tech. The only thing Canadian about it is the C and lack of /A

I was more thinking of the RAM’s and Skink

That’s fair, both chassis are American design but the actual shooting bits are Canadian

“They utilized American technology (Sherman chassis for the Skink, M3 components for the Ram), but their designs, especially the turrets and intended roles, were Canadian.”

“In summary, the Skink and Ram are Canadian designs, not American, though they incorporate American chassis and components. Their development reflects Canada’s adaptation of U.S. technology to meet specific wartime requirements.”

Even AI disagrees with you on that one

That’s literally what I said but AI

the CF18 is also its own variant with its own upgrade packages, its also operated by somewhere that ISNT the united states of America, instead a country under King Charles the third of Canada, who happens to also be the king of the UK. logical to have the same kingdom in one tree.

how about we ask a canadian where he wants his stuff. With the neighbour who isn’t on good terms or the mother nation.

Still, they are Canadian and was born in Canada lol

Afaik the only different is an extra light for landings. It’s just an F/A-18A

its a Grizzly, not purebred sherman. Built in Montreal

Only real difference is the tracks being all metal. Even then im not sure if the Skink is one of those Grizzlies

the skink is a grizzly hull if that wasn’t obvious by the casting differences and thicker armour

What casting differences and thicker armor? 2nd sentence on Grizzly wiki page is about how they used the same hull casting

And I mean Grizzlies with the Canadian all-metal tracks, some had standard tracks and I was referring to whether it was one with standard or all-metal tracks

Canadian Dry pin tracks with 17 17-spar sprockets were a later change which probably would fit American shermans tbh.

turret was also taller for more space

there were a few with some armour tumours made, unsure if an Americans sherman ever saw this tho or they just welded plate on

Never heard of it before, so maybe?

Also, do you have any proof the turret itself is taller than M4A1 turret Grizzly is based on

The US does not need every single vehicle it exported 😭
