Block one 9X is the weakest of them all to be fair, It’s not an IRIS-T and it doesnt have the insane range of ASRAAM
New IR missiles might come for the new top tier SAMs (eg. SLAMRAAM with 4x 120s and 2x 9Xs), but I really hope we don’t get them on actual aircraft for a few more patches.
Also yeah, IRIS-T SLS was already shown in the community post.
You might see a couple in a game compare that to the 8 or so Su-30s in everygame.
As a Typhoon player I would rather see massive fix to the Radar than a 120C being added to paper over it’s inadequacies

True, but I can’t see them just adding a bettter IR missile to one nation only, especially with better ARH missiles

I’d expect the first Typhoons to get them to be Tranche 3s so the current ones can stay where they are and not enlarge the already big gap between the F-4F ICE/MiG-29G and Typhoon.
The problem with that is the seeker. If flight performance was an issue, the R-73 and MICA EM wouldn’t be in game.

I doubt the Eurofighter will stay where it currently is – especially since it is explicitly a Block 10 (ie. AIM-120C-5 + IRIS-T compatibility). It sincerely deserves to go up alongside the Rafale, we’re just waiting for better competition and newer missiles to be added.
The next new Eurofighter model to get added will probably have an AESA radar and much later missiles than the 120C-5.
Considering how much tech there is between what the ones in game have and the latest Typhoons, I very much doubt it. I’d be very surprised if there are fewer than at least three per nation by the time we get to T4s.
It has to come at some point and the 9X/R-74M are the less egregious of the other IIR missiles.
They gave the Su-30SM a brand new long range/do everything missile in the 77-1 while not giving it to the superior flight performance Su-27SM.
9X wont have a 20km lock on range it will still in game act like all the other IIR missiles be used at 3km
The AIM-9X bl 1, R-73M/74, and Python 4 coming, alongside missiles already in game like the AAM-3, Magic II, and PL-8B getting buffed to be closer to their real performances, is definitely something that should happen soon at least.
Rafale cooks Typhoon because they have the one down from the actual F.4

If they add a new Typhoon Tranche 3/4 with AESA, improved PIRATE a fully modeled DAS
and an accurate fm then yep put that sucker up to 16.0 and let it fight F-22s.
And because the CAPTOR-M is worse than the Blue Vixen in game.

Just sucks for the Aim9M guys who cannot have their best missile as it would be “game breaking”
It’s true I find the Radar in the Su-33 better than Typhoon I can actually lock what I want and while it doesnt have “TWS+” and a lower detection range. It will reliably hold a lock and not force me to cycle modes before the Radar acknowledges the target infront of me.
I’ve had more success with the MiG-23MLA’s radar.
Russian players wont believe it though as the N001 Radar is the worst Radar in the known universe to them
While it’s not amazing, the N001 is in my experience a perfectly usable radar.
I don’t see how withholding AIM-120C-5s would help with this… We’d basically be facilitating compression at this point by keeping such a good FM limited by its weapons.
Giving the Eurofighter AIM-120C-5s would give it more standoff range against the MICA, even if Gaijin does ungimp the MICA. Not to mention giving the Eurofighter access to the IRIS-T allows it to compete at very close ranges, which is something it severely lacks.
I’d argue we don’t need a whole new Eurofighter for that, especially when this variant has much better flight performance relative to anything that isn’t a Eurocanard and Gaijin can simply tack on radar fixes on top of giving it new missiles.
but the Aim9X is way stronger than previous Aim9s innit? After all the French didn’t get the Mica IR for similar reasons

I dont see a world were Gaijin does though, to them the Typhoon is in a great place and requires no additions or buffs.
120C and IRIS-T would make the Typhoon a monster imagine having an IR missile that works!
