could be neat but we have a domestic option that is right there and I hope gaijin is willing to actually add around the time where it will be good (it would give british ground SOMETHING to stand out in)
A domestic option thats abilities are well beyond that of all other systems, lol. Not going to happen xD
South Africa is a fully committed brother to the tree ;)
all im gonna say is pantsir has been in the game for over a year I dont see why the UK cant get the same treatment russia did
also a 25km range missile is what we need to actually give ground a chance vs air
They did, which is what makes every sub tree that came afterwards so annoying because you can easily tell how little effort they put into the latter ones. The SA subtree prioritized actual unique vehicles. The subtrees that came after it? They are lucky if they have one or two that arent locked behind an event or premium wall.
I dont think range is necessarily an issue. I think all the new SPAA will eventually need to be within that kind of ballpark. Such as SL-AMRAAM is gunna be what about 20km too?
I think 20-25km will be the new normal for SPAA.
625E would give us a Pantsir equivalent and not what is needed to actually counter an Su-30 firing fake KH-38MTs
The SLS which is gunna be far shorter range I see being a test bed for IIR and then being upgrade to the extended range version in the future.
Also, CAMM wont have 60km range if its based upon the ASRAAM which is 50km under optimal conditions when air launched, are you confusing CAMM with CAMM-ER?
Nope, i am not.
One thing I would like to see is a world when severely or critically damaged aircraft while spiralling from 30Kft. Can no longer use an HMD to just dump on players with ARHM and IR missiles. It’s usually a Sukhoi as they carry an obscene amount of missiles.
You made the change for Helicopters now model it on aircraft, top tier has this cancerous style of play even close range dogfights you get the kill but then have to defend while they vomit every missile they have left!
If your jet is on fire has a wing missing you cannot fire missiles. I would also add an auto eject feature yes it will annoy players who somehow manage to (unrealistically get back to base missing a wing and an engine.)
But for the overall health the game mode this isn’t good for play. You should not be rewarding dead/dying players with the opportunity of a spite play
@Smin1080p_WT are developers aware that France can use Mistral 3 which uses IIR seeker similar to the IRIS-T which had been (allegedly) teased in the dev blog? The Mistral 3 had been test fired on the Atlas RC platform.
I haven’t been closely following the discussion but if that’s for IR missiles, that would be very optimistic. I don’t expect IR missiles to track further than 10 km max for the foreseeable future
SL-AMRAAM and Skysabre and the other missile for the Type 81, etc are all ARH missiles, which should eliminate a chunk of that issue and the more modern IR systems like the SLS could also see the introduction of LOAL for missiles.
I should say it’s less of capability and more for balance. FnF long range IR missiles will not be fun for CAS and as much as anyone wants to claim otherwise, CAS will always be a vital part of the game with a right to exist in a fun form.
Yeah, I do agree, though at the moment, I dont see a solution that allows everyone to get something even half as good as the Pantsir without just taking a big jump forward.
Also, IIR will not be even 1/10th its IRL strength, I fully imagine they will be flareable.
But once we get better SPAA, we can stop nerfing CAS
The turning point would probably be be the propagation of a gun based system with HE-VT & 360 degrees AESA coverage e.g. Sgt Stout so basically everyone has a chance of reliably intercepting incoming ordnance.
So the Kills per Flyout of should drop dramatically, which at least goes a significant portion of the way to fixing issues with CAS as long as cover is being provided and somewhat aware.
Or they just add spectral flares and model countermeasures better
Even if we get full IR signature model overhaul so that IR signatures were actually modeled properly as well as proper IIR countermeasures like BOL being properly modeled. IIR is never going to be undefeatable without those. Its a game, there will always be a degree of defence
Well yeah that’s the whole point of adding more advanced countermeasures, so IIR is not guaranteed death
Yes, but even then, they’ll help, but they wont be a hard requirement.
and thats just assuming they get modeled.
Im still expecting IIR to be more like IRCCM+. More difficult to defeat than what we’ve got, but not dramatically so
Just look out how Aim-9M and PL-8B is modeled or most of the ARH missiles. Massively restricted to maintain balance
Yeah probably will be like that
We might not have to wait long. The teased Type 625E has AESA and AHEAD like munitions, should make intercepting munitions very cheap and fast.
However potentially with that, Gaijin may buff missile/bomb damage models again to take more effort to destroy with guns, so that using more expensive (or rather less plentiful) missiles has some advantage.
